Click for full story. If/when this infernal lockout finally, mercifully comes to an end and the Sixers are expected to put a basketball team on the floor, Doug Collins is going to have some juggling to do. Barring a minor miracle, he's going to have much the same roster this season as he had in 2010-2011. While last season was about feeling out his players and gauging their roles, this year he's going to need to tweak things to make them work better. Unfortunately, he might just find he's got a lopsided squad.

Click for full story. Over the past couple days in the comments, the conversation has continually drifted to contention. How can the Sixers get from here to there? Is contention just a pipe dream? Is there anything the new owners can do to move the needle? Well, there's one clear path to relevance. Dwight Howard.

Click for full story. Here's a fun exercise to pass the time on this scorching hot Thursday. Start with the Sixers team that went to the finals in 2000-2001, pick any player who played for the Sixers at any time that year or any times since, and put together a roster. Further explanation and rules to follow.

Click for full story. Since the players and owners can't be bothered to have a legitimate negotiation until August, there's really not a whole lot going on in the NBA these days. We might as well waste some time analyzing the schedule that was released yesterday, even if the odds are against the season playing out that way.

Click for full story. Later today in what can either be described as a "thumbing their noses at us," or "slapping us in the face," move, the NBA will release the schedule for the 2011-2012 season. Typically, this is the day when I take a look and try to pinpoint a couple games I'm going to buy tickets for. It's just another step to build the excitement for the upcoming season. This year, it's just cruel.

Click for full story. It appears as though the NFL lockout will probably be coming to an end later this week. The sides apparently were able to come to terms on the contentious issues and hammer out a deal that will save the season. While I'm not particularly optimistic the NBA will follow suit, there is definitely one thing to keep an eye on in the next couple of weeks in the NFL, and keep in mind if/when the NBA gets its act together.
