fireworks010108.jpg Ironically, 2007 ended the same way it began, with a Sixers win. We rode a year-long roller coaster with the Yanks, Sixers and Eagles. No rings, trophies or parades, but plenty of excitement. As a fan, I've always measured seasons by championships won, so this one came up lacking, but there are plenty of positives to look forward to.

The Yanks escaped 2007 without trading away one of the big three. They've come this far without backing away from their internal youth movement, and that's definitely a good thing. The Sixers are coming together as a team and taking us on a wild ride to an improbable playoff run. The Eagles...well, at least they still have Brian Westbrook.

It was an amazing year for me personally, highlighted by the birth of my first child, Nora. Her arrival couldn't have come at a better time, she born about a day after the Yanks were knocked out of the playoffs, meaning my grief was very short-lived.

The blogging highlight of the year for me was obviously the A.L.D.S. We set the record for comments during each game's live blog, capped off with Game 4. Although the outcome was painful, watching along with a group of die-hard fans like you guys and gals was my great pleasure.

No resolutions in 2008, I'm not a resolutions kind of guy. I will however give you a preview of some things you can expect.
  • In January I'll be one of the guest-bloggers for Peter Abraham at the LoHud Yankees Blog. My day is January 30th, so keep an eye out for that.
  • In March, I'm taking the family to Tampa for Yankees Spring Training. I'll be down there for 3 or 4 games, including the Yanks/Sox on St. Patrick's day. I'll be shooting video and updating the blog from down there throughout the week.
  • I'll be heading back to Eagles Training Camp in the Summer, so expect more photos and video from there as well.
2007 was a great year and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for being part of it. Here's to a great 2008. Happy New Year!

Happy new Year Brian, to you and your family

It's gonna be a long Sixers year and I am very confident we will have fun (finally !)

    Take care

Happy New Year to you and yours.

Thanks for the opportunity to be part of this great network!

    Thanks guys.

Ricky, I'm looking forward to the rest of this season, these guys are exciting.

    GM,

It's my pleasure, keep up the good work.

I'll be in town for spring training around the 15th. I am gonna fly into Orlando considering prices from Newark to Tampa are obscene. I have tix for one game vs Cleveland and one at Pittsburg.

should be fun, went last year and had a blast.

    Jay,

I'm really looking forward to it. I'm cashing in frequent flier miles, so flying into Tampa. How did you get your tickets?
