This game left me less than thrilled. The Mets stole 5 bases against the Yanks. Jose Reyes manufactured one run with his legs, the other with his power. The Yankee bats helped Oliver Perez to no end. Perez was neither sharp, nor over-powering. The Yankees helped him out by swinging at bad pitches all night long.

The only highlight of the game came in the top of the ninth when the YES cameras swung to the Yankee bullpen and froze on Brian Bruney adjusting his nether regions. That made me laugh, the rest of the game left me on the verge of tears.

Clemens pitched a good game, 6.1 IP, 2 earned, 7 hits, 1 walk, 8 Ks, but it wasn’t enough. The lack of run support must have Clemens flashing back to his Houston days.

Tyler Clippard vs. Glavine tomorrow. I’ll be in attendance, wearing the Giambi t-shirt. If the Yanks don’t win, the shirt gets washed.

Player of the Game: Derek Jeter, 2 for 4 with a double.

Update: Loge13 didn’t waste much time getting their gloat post up, check it out.

No gloating here. I'm more relieved by the fact the Mets (finally) won. Doesn't matter who they beat.
