NYY 7, CHI(A) 3: Yanks Bounce Back
![]() Last night's loss was a low point for me, emotionally, as a Yankee fan this season. Tonight, I'm feeling much better. The stars were aligned for the Yanks tonight, and Mo even found a way to get into the game in a freebie save situation as the Yanks won 7–3. The Yankee lineup took a little time to kick it into gear, but all told, they battered Matt Buehrle and an assortment of garbage relievers to the tune of 17 hits. Every Yankee in the starting lineup had a hit, A-Rod blasted his 21st bomb of the year, and most importantly, Robinson Cano and Bobby Abreu continued to swing hot bats. Clippard threw a good game, 5 innings, 1 earned, 5 hits, 3 walks, 4 Ks. Farnsworth was garbage, as usual. Bruney only managed to get one out before loading the bases. Mo made quick work of the ChiSox for his sixth save of the year. Let’s consider last night’s loss a blip. The Yanks have won 3 of 5, and they send their ace to the hill tomorrow. Win series, boys. That’s all you can do. The Sox lost to Oakland, 2–0. Detroit lost to the Rangers, 7–4. The Yanks are now 11.5 games behind the Sox for the A.L. East lead, and 6.5 games out of the wild card. Player of the Game: Alex Rodriguez, 3 for 5, 2 runs, 3 RBIs and a bomb.
