On Deck (Game 14): Cleveland vs. NYC
![]() I've been waiting pull this image out, and today is the perfect opportunity. The Yanks take the field at 1:05 p.m. today to hopefully complete a three-game sweep of the Cleveland Indians. Darrell Rasner will make his third start of the year, coming off a good outing against the Oakland A's. Toeing the slab for the Tribe will be 23 year-old Fausto Carmona. Fausto is coming off a start in which he only lasted four and a third innings, allowing 6 earned runs to the ChiSox. The dreaded day-game-after-a-night game probably means Posada, and his .347 average are on the bench. Personally, I’d like to see Posada get the start at DH and let Giambo play the game at first. In a nutshell: The Yanks offense is just punishing opposing starters. They haven’t seen Fausto yet in his young career, but it won’t make a difference if he can’t locate his pitches and work ahead in the count. Keys to the game: Like I said, Posada and maybe another creaky vet. like Damon will get the day off, and there’s always the threat of a hangover with a short turnaround like this. Rasner needs to keep the string of good starts going for the Yanks. Looking forward to seeing Bruney pitch, a highlight of the young season. Indians blog-of-the-day: Tribe Report Note: Jeff Karstens will come off the DL and get the start against the BoSox on Saturday. Oh, and Phil Hughes may just be ready. His line against Syracuse tonight: 6 innings, 2 hits, zero walks, zero runs, 10 K’s.

And a good job by Ron Villone as he picked up his second "H" of the year!
Ronnie Villone. Fear not, my Italian friend, your countryman will find his way up to the Bronx at some point, especially with the workload being put on the pen.
