adiosmussina.JPGI'm sure Kim Jones or some other intrepid reporter type is tiptoeing into the Yankee clubhouse right now and trying to find Mike Mussina for a post-game interview. The Moose is probably thinking up his excuses as we speak. It's all window dressing. There's only one question that needs to be answered, and Mussina isn't the guy to answer it, Joe Torre is.

"Joe, will Mike Mussina make his next scheduled start?"

If the answer isn't a resounding "NO" I'm going to lose what's left of my mind.

To say that Mussina is a disgrace to the uniform is not hyperbole. To say that he takes all of the fun out of watching baseball is a fair statement. To say that he's a jackass is completely warranted. To say that I hate him, well I've reached that point.

Am I being too harsh on the Moose? No. I usually don't attack a guy personally when he sucks. I just say he's horrible, but his comments earlier in the week, "Who do they have that's better than me?" coupled with a comment he made on the mound tonight, "You have to catch that ball," when a double was crushed to the wall in left-center and no one had a prayer of chasing it down, have officially put him on my shit list. (I'm not an expert lip reader, but I replayed it 20 times on my DVR and it sure looked like that was what Mussina said, so I'm going with it).

Mussina gave up 6 earned runs in three innings tonight, it could've easily been 10 had Melky not made an amazing catch in bottom of the first, with the bases loaded and Robinson Cano made an unbelievable throw in the same frame to cut down a run at the plate.

There is no reason not to call Ian Kennedy up to make his major league debut at home against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays on Saturday. Absolutely no reason. Drop Henn or Brower from the 40-man roster to make room for Kennedy, and get him up here. After that start, you use the off day on the following Thursday to reshuffle the rotation so Hughes and Kennedy aren't back-to-back. The kids got you back into this thing, you're going to have to rely on them to get you the rest of the way.

Mussina is done. There's no other way to look at it. This game has left me sick to my stomach.

Player of The Game: Melky, 1 for 3 with an amazing, amazing catch.
