Home Run Derby has a great story on Blue Jays center fielder Vernon Wells. Apparently, earlier this week Wells was being heckled by an energetic crew in the bleachers, and he decided to do some heckling of his own. He wrote the following on a ball and tossed it to Jeff Raycher, and Indians fan, in the crowd:
“Here’s your ball, now please tell me what gas station you work at so I can come and yell at you when you’re working. Please sit down, shut up and enjoy the game. From Your Favorite Centerfielder, Vernon Wells”
The best thing about this story is that Wells spelled it "center" fielder, not "centre." Take that Toronto!
