It turns out that the reported oblique muscle injury which sent Phil Hughes to the disabled list is actually a stress fracture to a rib.

Hughes is expected to miss a month now, followed by what I'd expect to be a lengthy rehab assignment in the minors. Who knows, it might do the kid some good.
