Maybe a little bit of an exaggeration, so shoot me. It's funny, you take all the regulars out of the lineups and the Yanks/Sox are still an even match. The night portion of today's day-night doubleheader went extras with Jose Veras allowing the walk-off hit in the bottom of the 10th to Jonathan Van Every.
It's fitting that the final game would be a microcosm of the entire season, so close, but yet so far. The Yankees finish the season with an 89-73 record. The exact same record as the New York Mets, who will be watching the playoffs at home, just like the Yanks.
Player of The Game: Cano.
Team Record (final): 89-73
