 This one takes the cake!I literally became sick to my stomach when I read this rumor on ESPN.com today. Apparently, it's being reported by the New York Times that the Yanks are close to a three-team deal that would send Melky Cabrera to the Braves and left-handed reliever Mike Gonzalez to the Yanks. Adam Laroche would complete the deal moving from Atlanta to Pittsburgh. Stupid, stupid, stupid. That's the only way to describe this move. Seriously, I mean, trade Matsui, trade A-Rod, trade any starter besides Wang, but don't trade Melky. How much older can this team get? He's 22, he belongs in the big leagues, he proved that last year. He's patient at the plate, he's got a cannon for an arm and he can play the hell out of left field. I can't say anything more on this subject. George has lost his mind and Cashman either A: Has no spine and cannot stand up to him; B: Thinks this is a good idea and has no grasp on how to build a winning franchise or C: All of the above. I'm leaning toward C. All I want for Christmas is for this rumor to be false. Thanks for ruining my night New York Times.  Melky may be making catches like this in Atlanta next year.
