Three in a row. Maybe getting that Rodriguez guy back was the turning point.

13 runs tonight on 13 hits and only 1 home run. That's the kind of production you love to see. Clutch hits galore. Consider this, in the eight-run fifth inning the Yanks scored six of their runs with two outs. They didn't homer in the inning. They came through with four two-out hits with runners in scoring position. I'd be willing to be they've gone more than one entire week this season without four two-out hits with runners in scoring position.

Another great start for a Yankee. The next thing we need to see is the offense picking up the pitching staff when the starter doesn't get the job done. We may get a chance today when Mike Mussina takes the hill looking to erase the memory of the shortest outing of his career.

One last note. Even when he's suspended (1 game for kicking dirt on the umpire during his tantrum in Thursday night's game) Girardi can't help but mess with the lineup. He basically took Damon out of the lineup and moved everyone up one spot. I guess you can't really complain about it when the team puts 13 runs on the board, though. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before, but I absolutely love having Melky in the 9th spot. Once he pulls himself out of this slump, he's going to give the top of the order plenty of RBI opportunities.

Player of The Game: Shelley. His 3-run bomb erased a 2-run deficit in a hurry, and kick started the Yankee offense.
Team Record: 23-25
Damon: DNPCD

What's this?

Girardi's suspension does not warrent a letter to the skipper?

Good to see the Yanks winning again! good call bout Melky Brian. He'll get out of the slump soon.

Joe has a letter coming soon. If I had written it a week ago it never would've gotten by the censors.

Great insight as usual. One comment though. Duncan's homer gave the Yanks a 3 - 1 lead. It did not become 3 - 2 yankees until the next inning. The homer wiped out a one run yankees deficit

I stand corrected. Good catch.
