The Cleveland Cavaliers came into Philly tonight needing a win if they wanted any shot at the #2 seed in the East. Long story short: they got it, 98–92.

Andre Iguodala, Kyle Korver and Rodney Carney sat out again, but Joe Smith, Willie Green and Samuel Dalembert helped the Sixers hang with the Cavs for 2+ quarters. The Cavs led by six at the half, but the Sixers came out hot in the third, using an 8–0 run to briefly take the lead.

Larry Hughes caught fire in the fourth and the Cavs stretched their lead to 12, but there is no quit in these Sixers. They cut it to a two possession game late in the fourth, and LeBron James had to come back in and settle things down for Cleveland.

In the end, the hill was just too high to climb. Joe Smith is your player of the game, contributing 15 points and 13 boards off the bench. Stephen Hunter was pulled after picking up two quick fouls in five minutes and never returned. Not sure if he’s hurt, or if Mo saw something he didn’t like and sent a message to the big man.

One game left to go, Sixers fans. Tomorrow night the Sixers travel to Toronto to finish off what’s been an exciting season, to say the least.
