The Sixers are three games into their Summer League schedule and stand at 1–2. Records are obviously meaningless, as are most of the stats, but here’s a quick breakdown of the highlights so far:
- Louis Williams is absolutely tearing apart the competition, in the three games he’s scored 19, 32 and 23. In Monday’s game he finished with 23 points, 9 boards and 7 assists.
- Louis Amundson is working his ass off to make this team. In game 1 he had 16 points, 11 boards and 2 blocked shots. He’s only played 11 minutes in each of the last two games.
- Thad Young and Jason Smith both seemed to get their feet under them in the third game. Young finished with 15 points and 11 boards (6 offensive). Smith also notched a double-double, 12 points, 10 boards (5 offensive).
I caught about half of the Sixers second game against the Pistons, and it wasn’t very enjoyable. Williams was fearless, driving to the hole at every opportunity, and Detroit’s offense seemed to be comprised of nothing but terrible shots from Rodney Stuckey.
The Sixers take on the Lakers tomorrow night at 8:00pm on NBA TV, I’ll probably flip over for a little of the game once the All Star Game bores me to death.
