Sixers 2007 DraftBrian is still out of the country, but he'll be back on July 2 with his full take on the Sixer draft. In the meantime, I'm here to give all you Philly fans the facts on the 2007 NBA Draft. Just the facts, ma'am. I'm not a huge hoops fan, but I did brush up against basketball greatness on Thursday afternoon on my way home from work. I was walking to Penn Station when I saw this gigantic man walking toward me standing head and torso above everyone else. Turned out to be Kareem Abdul-Jabar. I should have yelled out, "Hey, it's Roger Murdock!" but I thought about it two hours too late. Anyway, here's a rundown of who the Sixers took. Leave your thoughts in the comments section and check back on Tuesday for Brian's take. Pick #12: Thaddeus Young, Forward, Georgia Tech. Pick #21 (from Denver): Daequan Cook, Guard, Ohio State (to Miami). Sixers pick up Miami's #20 pick, Jason Smith, Forward/Center, Colorado State. Pick #30 (from Dallas): Petteri Koponen, Guard, Finland (to Portland). Sixers pick up Portland's #42 pick, Derrick Byars, Guard/Forward, Vanderbilt. Pick #38 (from New York): Kyrylo Fesenko, Center, Bosnia (to Indiana).

Thanks Mike, can't wait to see Brian's opinion
I just posted mine on my blog after following the draft live (= went to bed at 6 AM to be at work at 9...)
I am confused to say the least. Be careful, not disappointed, confused. really can't tell which is the main feeling...
is Deepressed fan going to change to "Very depressed fan"?
What in the world was Billy King thinking? THis is what happens when Larry leaves town and lets Billy handle the grown up decisions.
Young was projected as a second round pick by some and definitely would have been available at #21. The Sixers passed on Thornton, who I think would have been a better choice and STILL could have picked up this guy.
This guy is just another Rodney Carney and not what we needed.
PS...Atlanta looks like they scored in this draft with Al Horford and Acie Law. Maybe I should start watching the Hawks.
I also can't wait to see Brian's opinion on this one, although I might not be sober when that opinion comes out.
