Click for full story. Well, I didn't expect it, but I was delighted to be able to compile differential production (DP) stats for one more Sixer win this year, Sunday's Game 4 thriller.  The full explanation for DP can be found here.  DP measures which players made individual contributions to a team's offensive and defensive ratings for a game.  For this game, the Sixers' team offensive DP (ODP) was -2 (86 points in 88 possessions), and their team defensive DP (DDP) was +5 (82 points allowed in 87 possessions).  Read on for the individual breakdown.

Click for full story. There's nothing quite like playoff NBA basketball. After a couple of games, the familiarity between the two teams breeds unbelievable contempt. Team strengths are neutralized by adjustments, then coaches need to rethink everything to take advantage of the holes opened by those adjustments. It's truly a chess match. Let's take a look at a couple of key adjustments, and how they've been countered through the first four games.

Click for full story. Maybe this is what all that heartache set them up for. Maybe failing to close game after game after game in the regular season gave them the fortitude to never say die when the death would've been literal. Maybe it was running without a timeout, letting the players make their own luck on the floor. Whatever did it, this was easily the sweetest win of the year. A tremendous comeback topped with clutch play from the team's youngest players.
