The Wizards are coming to town, and the Sixers need to send them back home with their tail between their legs. For once, please start strong, jump on top and never let them feel like they have a chance.
Is it really too much to ask for? To win the game, the starters don't have to come out of the gates strong, but it sure would make everyone feel better. Either way, make this a comfortable win, see if you can't limit the minutes for Brand, Iguodala and even Jrue (who played 110+ minutes in the back-to-back-to-back) so they're fresh for tomorrow night's conclusion of the home-and-home, back-to-back.
Everything we've heard so far today points toward Spencer Hawes playing, which should help assuming he isn't useless out there. Treat the Wizards like what they are, a bad team.
The tip is at 7pm. This is your game thread. I'll be right here throughout, join me if you need a blowout win to erase the bad taste of the Knicks loss.
Prediction: PHI 110, WAS 87
sixers -13, O/U 187
Does anyone still remember that this is a matchup of the #1 and #2 draft pics from last year?
The Wizards have started to play better ball as of late. I wouldn't be surprised if this game is close.
I would be surprised if we lose, however.
in fantasy, would you guys start Javale McGee tonight or Bogut, who's playing in Dallas?
Probably Bogut.
yea, i don't know if Hawes playing makes it more or less likely McGee will have a good game lol
I always worry when the sixers play against big men who could/should be talented, they haven't figure it out yet but bltache and mcgee could be a dangerous combo and the sixers front court defensively is just weak - always worries me that teams are going to take more davantage than they usually do
But Blatche is essentially a perimeter player and McGee isn't an offensive player at all.
Offensive boards and dunks for McGee. If he can limit himself to that, he's efficient, but apparently he can't.
Blatche is terrible. McGee is a decent player, defensively and potential-wise anyway.
Got my tickets for Monday's game. Have a feeling it's going to be a big crowd, couldn't find too many tickets on Sixers.com and StubHub didn't have many available either.
Let me know the next time you are heading into Philly for a game. Now that I'm in town more I'd like to see if I can catch a game or two.
Actually, just send me an email the next time you might be in Philly for a game.
will do. Think Monday afternoon might be a decent crowd w/ a bunch of kids, which would be nice. I kind of wish teams would do daytime games on the weekends/holidays more often. Feel like it's tough to get kids to games that start at 7pm, at least younger kids. Weekend baseball games are great for kids.
I thinks there is a good chance the Sixers lose tonight.
1. They are not fully recovered from 5 games in 6 nights. I work 24+ hour shifts, and it is often after you finally have a day off that you feel the strain.
2. I don't buy that the Sixers are suddenly good enough that they no longer play down to bad teams. That stretch of 6 convincing wins was great, but it could still just be a hot streak (which the Sixers have had many in the past 5 seasons.) I'll probably be skeptical for at least the first half of the season.
So IMO this game could either be a close loss or another win. But even another blowout win would not yet sell me that this team is at a much higher level than the last 66 games of last season.
The last 66 games of last season was what, 38-28? That might be enough to win the Atlantic this year. Is the expectation much higher than that right now? What, like 45-21? That seems lofty to me.
Fair enough. Had the Sixers won a few more and gotten the 5 seed they might have made it past the 1st round. And that is how I see this year's team.
But a lot of the recent hype surrounding the team suggest they are good to where they are only worse than maybe the top 4 teams. If that is the case they should rarely lose to a bad team and probably be a bit over 500 against average and good teams. That could be accurate, but I have watched this team too closely these past few years to get on board yet.
I think they are better than the national consensus heading into the season, but worse that where the talking heads have placed thenm as of last week.
I just don't see the tired thing really coming into play tonight. It's not like Wednesday where the schedule set them up to fail. Everybody in the league will be tired, and they just had an off day. The Wiz played four games those same six days too.
It's tough to think they will lose tonight. They could, or even just play a close game, but that doesn't mean that they aren't a good team. There have been a lot of good teams that have played close to their competition. The fact that they had blowing teams out is a luxury, not really a necessity to talk about how good they are. The barometer to me is how they play against good teams.
Screw the talking heads, Doug's the only head talking they way these guys look. You wait it out, which you should do (getting on board), but this team is legit.
If they just had a teenie-weinee bit better big, ugh I don't even want to begin to think.
bad thing for the sixers, blatche out today and tomorrow
He caught Sixersitis. I'm surprised that Wall was immune to that malady.
Haha bulletsforever blog says they're playing at the first union center tonight! What a b from the p
iggy should start on young and meeks on singleton right?
Should, but probably won't. He hasn't been doing any cross-matching at all at the start of games. If young is shooting well early, he'll make the change, but expect Young to get some clean looks early.
First game ive walked up for this season and somehow my $10 upper level ticket had a $5 processing fee, not cool...at least they have programs printed up now...
Looks like I've got the Sixers in HD for tonight's game on LP. Their choices were PHI/WAS, IND/TOR, DET/CHA.
Nice, Philly broadcast. They've got footage of Hawes working on his sissy hook, excellent.
Building looks pretty empty on TV. Wonder if it's going to be under 10K again. Let's set that as the over/under. I'll take over.
Under, it's friday night, people are getting drunk
Over, b/c it's Friday!
late tricklin' in though..
Hmm Ayla just rocked.the anthem again and the new light show does look pretty cool from up high, there are rings of stars and the logo....but there are -maybe - 5k ppl here at tipoff....
And we're off...Hawes loses the tip in his dramatic return to the lineup (1/9 on the season, 1/10 if you count ceremonial tips).
So lazy, Jrue.
Let that be your last TO tonight, Jrue. And may these be your first of 10 trips to the line.
lou in quick
Well that was ugly. Lou coming in for Jrue. Wow.
Quick Hook for Jrue.
Wait why the hell is gary bettman on the programs?? http://t.co/Hv28q6SH
Free throw = bugaboo
OK, Lou. 6 trips to the line already
Why did Jrue go out?
2 turnovers on first 2 possessions.
Good then. He needed to eventually do it, Doug.
Don't start settling for long 2's, please.
Biggest cheers during intros were for Spencer and iggy had a very mcnanb esque mixed reaction - I guess that's good bc it.means there are bandwagoners here?
What was the between the legs gonna do for you Andre? ugh
STOP THE BALL!
Get Meeks off of Young.
Please stay on Nick Young and don't let him go off.
4 turnovers already.
I'd sub Turner in for Meeks. Nick Young is getting anything he wants.
Get Turner in for Meeks. He can't stop Nick Young
Collins is going to rip some ass in this timeout. 4 fucking turnovers already. Pitiful.
the best way to teach Jrue to take care of the ball is to put Lou in?
I think it was more sitting Jrue than putting Lou in.
It seems that in pro sports the best way to teach a player anything is to bench him and yell at him - even if a less talented player comes in - yes
Lou actually does take care of the ball. I don't have a problem w/ the quick hook, shouldn't sit him for long, though.
We had major turnover problems in the first quarter/half in the last couple of games.
Lou. Spencer patented backdoor. He can throw the shit out of that bounce pass.
Jodie contested long two, but it's good.
Nick. Young.
get him please
When was the last time you saw Brand beat the defense down the floor?
Hey brian - Monday is a dollar dog day so maybe they will top.this crowd of.....5000 maybe? http://t.co/Iazd8lgR
Wow, that's sad.
Lou, if you keep doing that ...
Nice floater, Lou.
Good strip EB!! good hands man way out there
John Wall, for all of his quickness, sure gets beat a lot of the dribble.
I have no idea why Hawes let Booker get to his left hand that easily.
voose in for hawes
jodie 4 3
Good timed pass Andre. Meeks.
Meeks transition three, good decision by Iguodala.
Meeks two early 3's, nice.
only 1 3, the other was a long 2
Jodie three, nice. Patented AI9 push off a rebound. He's so good at that.
Sweet 3 by Jodie and dozens of people here are on their feet cheering....
Funny
Iggy's passing has been really good this year.
As opposed to?
Nice little run. Good to see Jodie connecting on his first few shots. Usually leads to a good shooting game.
Nice, Lou to AI9 for the slam. Good patience by Lou.
What. a. pass. ... Dre!
That was good help by Lou on Young. Wall at the three point line isn't a threat.
Yeah, it seems like the Sixers are amazing this year at double teaming and then falling back into position if they pass out.
Woah competent d by Meeks on wall followed by actual cheers for.ai9
Ugh, bad turnover. McGee has no touch at all, huh?
Great to see the Sixers playing good D and running the fast break perfectly.
Never seen a player miss the rim on so many shots that are closer than 5 feet like McGee does.
Collins looks so pissed.
The way Lou looks, he's been rightfully pissed at going to the bench of late. Every player should be.
Collins looking not happy AT ALL! Wow.
Wonder how Jrue's going to react to this.
I hope he only thinks about protecting the ball as his reaction honestly.
what a set of bricks McGee .. .heh
he's on his way to a mansion, if can stop knocking windows out first
Hmm my seat is right above the media section and I see about two dozen blank screens...and Marakovits has a mini tv that looks.like.its about as old as she is
lou floater
Lou, over McGee.
Jodie can't dunk? sure points is ok, just wondering
Turner initiating here, sort of.
Voose!!!!!
That was way too easy, Lou. D up.
Wow apparently Meeks does not know how to dunk, who knew? Dec just heard a few niiiiikola cheers too...
Great fight for that board, Thad!
Turner in transition.
Wow Thad, what a monster effort and swat or something
Another night, some more really good minutes from Voose.
PHI 33, WAS 23 after one.
Shaky first couple of minutes, but then they really put on an offensive show. Win every quarter by 10 and I'll be happy.
Meeks can definitely dunk. I've seen him do it before.
Most enjoyable first quarter of basketball by the Sixers this year, Nice.
Too much dribbling, Jrue. But pretty move and finish.
Amazing how Lou can fake like that and still get his shot off when he has a big on him that close. He does it often. Doesn't always go in, but still. .. The shot before the quarter.
Thad on the blocks w/ the left, nice.
Good block Nik.
Thad, ugh. he just looks different
Anyone know if vesely brought his gf here? If nit, wake me up at halftime so I can go meet Ayla....
Like even on that runout with him dribbling, even though he turned it over, he looks like a completely different player.
thad
Voose forced two TOV and altered a shot in the first quarter. Good, good D.
This team is absolutely beautiful to watch defensively. I've never seen anything like it.
Don't get jumper happy, please.
Jrue need to start passing more than shooting so much.
Don't like the dribbling either. But there haven't been many open players so far.
Thad draws another charge.
Thad, did you secretly work with Coach K at standing ground and taking a charge this offseason?
Who's the guy who hit the crazy game winner vs us last year for.these guys? Anyone know if...that guy...is still in the league?
Cartier Martin. No idea where he is now.
Dominic Mcguire wasn't it?
Oh. The other heartbreaker.
Nick young hit the baseline 3 last year
Very impressed with Thad's defensive improvement this year.
Oh cool Bernard Hopkins is here, white shirt and grey hat under the basket the wizards are shooting at...
It looks to be a very big dropoff from Voose to Hawes on the defensive end.
My goodness Spence, what a dish to ET.
turner drew a foul
The Wiz have thrown up some of the worst bricks I've ever seen in this 17 minutes of play.
ET to the line.
Sorry if I'm distracted, just pissed the Yanks shipped out Montero.
What?? For who? What the fuck
pineda, but there is also 2 more p,ayers in the deal
players*
Pineda, the Mariners. There are other players involved, too. This fucking aversion to developing their own young players is driving me crazy. Also worries me how many inning Pineda threw last season as a rookie. Whatever, the DH spot is open now, maybe they throw a ton of money at Prince.
You're kidding, right. dammit Cashman if so ... ugh
What's Spence's assist to turnover ratio?
Extra pass from ET to Hawes, pretty.
Good team basketball. Spence usually seems to knock those down when he gets some good ball movement.
Before that Hawes make, Andre was dribbling down the floor, but Thad and his strides covered so much ground. wow
dre on young
Circus shot, right away.
Thad switches onto Wall, and Wall doesn't attack it.
No need to double and or foul McGee.
Igoudala on Young
I remember when Brian said he wanted no part of McGee in that draft ... may have been right, cause if he was on out squad we'd probably despise him to an extent ... sort of like speights
Was I against McGee in that draft? I remember wanting no part of Anthony Randolph, don't remember McGee.
Yea i know about your Randolph but I really think they're some references to Javale in a comment or two maybe.
Might've been. Don't think I liked DeAndre Jordan either.
another palm against the sixers
Meeks back on Young.
Meeks on pace to play 17 minutes this half. Made a couple of shots, but gave up at least that many points on defense. Not sure he needs to be playing anywhere close to that much unless he's on fire.
Meeks played Young well after the first 2 makes. Young made some tough shots. And Meeks was pretty hot this first half, too.
Shoot the fucking ball, Andre.
That was anothe charge by Thad, no?
Yes, on the replay he def beat him to the spot.
Wizards announcers agreed.
Terrible shot by Jrue. He's all over the place tonight, then good D to get the ball back, then they screw up the transition, ugh.
Jrue out again, think this time it was for bad shots. He's having a terrible game, needs to collect himself and take his time.
Jrue's hurting the flow of the game for the Sixers.
Raptors up 12 on Indy.
W/o Bargnani.
That's a bonus, in my view.
Doug means business tonight, no?
Hmm there's a new gear store by one of the entrances, they have nice looking gear but nothing all that cool...unless you count JVR Jerseys w.no price on them, maybe they're giving the Jerseys away like Homer will give him away...
He's finally tightening the leash on Jrue, for good reason too.
Jo-3!
KG starting at center for the celtics, him and Noah HATE each-other
Go under the screen on Wall, please.
Keep it at double digits.
EB.
Ugh. limping through this quarter. Super small lineup isn't doing much. EB in the lane.
Why does Javale even try to shoot that? terrible
Loved that attack by Iguodala.
What does he draw up here?
Bismack has 5 blocks in 6 mintues at the end of the 1st half
Give it to Lou, I'd say.
nice call
Annnnnd, he makes after contact, to the line
that was a 22.5 ft floater, the way he drifted to the left
Still aren't crazy about that play, great shot though. I love how Collins tries to space with shooters and goes small, as if Lou is going to penetrate and kick that. He can get that shot regardless of the personnel.
PHI 54, WAS 40 at the half. Pretty blah second quarter, but they wound up tacking 4 onto their lead. Come out strong in the third and put them to sleep.
Bismack having a big game! Though 0-2 from the field, lowering his FG% to 37% (a tick higher than his FT%), he has 5 blocks in 6 minutes.
rubio starting tonight
Sixers' highest scoring first half of the season so far.
10:27 for Jrue in the first half, and he probably didn't deserve that many. He needs to wake up in the second half.
Lot of time left but, I was amazed at others that felt this team would struggle vs this type of team tonight. Even the possibility of it seems to have been removed. They will, for sure, slip up a time or two vs some they shouldn't, but this unit, is a force to be reckoned with nightly.
And their true worth won't be validated if they lose to the Wiz or beat the Heat. They'll probably do both, but let's judge them on when they count, the after-season.
Doug and this staff deserve a lot of credit, but not to take away at what's evolving.
,,,,,just some random thought
Still 24 minutes left. That second quarter wasn't great. Let's see them step on the Wizards' throat here.
and there nose and there face and there balls...
Reached throat yet?
I'd say so, yeah.
I almost just puked watching that guy wrap his leg around his head. That's disgusting.
Pitiful, I agree.
This is the fucking halftime entertainment? A male human pretzel in spandex?
Fun to watch a young big progress so quickly on our team. Feels like it doesnt happenthat often around the league.
Jeff Capel looks like a bassett hound
Complete agree w/ his message though. If we make simple plays, there's no way they can stop us.
Very true, and I didn't mean to be a dick and make fun of his looks but that's the first thing I thought when they showed him on camera.
No rule against being a dick here :)
I mean no disrespect.
maybe this will cheer brian up, yankees sign Hiroki Kuroda
Spence looks a little Amish if he had a hat on.
Pretty basketball. My HD feed is dying, think I'm going to have to switch to SD. Fucking time warner.
Not a good shot at all Jrue.
He's only taken one good one tonight, I think.
yea, he's appears rattled..wrongfully so
The one he actually made? ;-)
Yeah, and that was a bad possession, really. He dribbled for like 12 seconds, then just drove and made a nice layup.
Good feed, Jrue. Too easy for EB. Push this to 20 right out of this timeout.
Elton plugging away.
If Blatche usually takes terrible long jumpers, any McGee shot that isn't a dunk has more than made up for it. How does Flip put up with that crap?
It has to be painful for him, would be for me.
He probably knows he is getting fired soon so he either doesn't care or he doesn't have the power to do anything about it. Probably a little of both.
Man, the Sixers are just swarming on defense. WAS should've had a couple of open shots on that possession, but they were just so quick with their rotations.
SPENCE +1!!!!
Smart move by Hawes to use his body to shield McGee and push him away. And he makes the free throw!
Spence w/ the lumbering take bouncing backwards, miss, get own rebound, make, to the line .. heh
Anyone see that stat they had on the graphic? It said PHI 0 FG in last 4 seconds.
Hawes with 9 boards in 14 minutes BTW.
Brand is looking a lot better last 3 games
Wow, what a fucking steal by Jrue.
Jrue fouled Wall there no?
Dre!
Meeks is on.
Jodie, good shuffling. Walk, Young.
Jodie.
hawes +1
Damn Dre, that's just disrespectful.
Spence!
Spence +1! again!
Jodie's defense after the first two minutes has been good.
Just an ass kicking in the 3rd quarter again. Heh, Spence is pumped for the power layup.
This team ain't playin' around.
No letup. 30 by the end of the quarter, then bring in Nocioni.
Not a good pass attempt Spence, or your walk.
Jo-3!
Jodie for Threeeeeeee!!!!!!!!
Good find by Jrue, thought he might shoot that elbow jumper.
There it is Jodie. Good spot Jrue.
Jrue 4 3! ... ? had to put the question mark considering where he's disappeared to tonight
Woah just got a major upgrade from.my ticket guy to right near the section chanting 1-10 and the huge sSean hill esque dancing guy...what did I miss peeps?
A first-class ass kicking.
JRUE43!!!!!!!! In transition, nice. Iguodala is a man.
Wow, another third quarter beatdown. Man we really should have a backup point that can play in garbage time.
I say go with Battie, Voose, Allen, Brackins, Nocioni. Let the mullet run the point.
4-guard line-up? I guess ET is the 4 and Thad the 5.
Good news - Sixer up by 30, in the 3rd.
Bad news - Wiz susceptible to another dose tomorrow night
Lou!!!!!!!!!
Sweet Lou, pouring it on.
Thad with the ugliest drive I've ever seen, and still hits.
Jesus...it never gets old watching the sixers beat the shit out of these garbage teams.
I think we can win by 50. It's possible.
Thad, let me rethink my feelings on your contract for a minute ... you just look unusual
He obviously has worked with shawn Kemp this offseason
He obviously has worked with shawn Kemp this offseason
34 now. Can it get to 50?
He won't play the top 8 enough minutes. Though you know Noc is going to be gunning when he comes in, maybe if he catches fire.
Javale actually accomplishes a finger-roll.
lou!!!!!
You know how to get your team rest during a shortened season? Blow teams the fuck out!
Lou closing in on a point a minute.
PHI 92, WAS 58 after three.
Yeah, that's what you do to a team like the Wiz. Beautiful quarter.
Done. 19 in 19.
from 31 feet???
I wish they could save some of these baskets for tight games.
Lou is freaking unconscious tonight.
Bernard seems to think this is still a rebuilding team.
Who is that making these garbage shots for the Wiz? The guy Lou doesn't feel like guarding? Hate these Wiz unis, can't see the numbers.
Jrue forcing, but made it.
Take a timeout, Doug. This is unacceptable.
I know i'm nitpicking here, but it shouldn't be this easy for the wizards to score, even in garbage time. right?
With the players Doug's playing, he must be sticking out his tongue like me....ha... Up 25 with that lineup in there? heh
Can you guys hear the chants of "do the dougie ", 4 hour bus ride " and "Washington generals "??
Ha! Nah, can't hear any of that.
Vuc shooting one looking like McGee.
You shouldn't miss that Evan.
I believe he's 30% from beyond the foul line.
Jrue and EB coming back in. Collins isn't fucking around.
It's tripping me out, it really is.
Statement night, that's for sure. I like it.
Horrible effort from the whole bench here. Really low energy on the defensive end.
Completely relaxed. Doug should rip them all a new one.
I like the luxury of it though, minus the deserved criticism. Feels good to have these guys in, fucking all up.
I don't care what the score is, should not show such low energy on defense.
Usually a high energy unit too. Starters are more often the lethargic ones. This is unacceptable though.
I don't know if they have stopped them this quarter and Turner/Brand just let one slip through their hands.
They feel a bit too good about themselves.
17 - 4 this qtr. I can't stand it. How does this happen?
17 points in 4:20. They had 17 in the second and 18 in the third.
Jodie - stop man stop..
meeks!!!!!!!!
Jodie. Holy shit.
This defense is so terrible.
Meeks trading 3 for 2, though.
Meeks with 2 3s in half a minute. That helps.
Well fuck it the Jodie. make everyone put on 800 calories...
*then
Turner and Brand fighting each other for a board and it squirts out of bounds. Come on, don't finish this one out sloppy and carry that shit into tomorrow night. Get your act together.
Need an 8-8 finish from here to nail my prediction.
Fuck me. This is just ugly.
Good D Evan, ugh Money M...
How about one stop? Just one.
Good form all the way ET! 3!
ET's first three of the year.
Fuck this. Turner made the three but come the fuck on defense.
Stop and a slam by Jrue, and another stop. OK, get a hoop, then clear the bench, Doug. I'm happy.
OK! Jrue! Kodak moment from Hawes!
JODIE CAN'T DUNK!!!! but who cares.
Really thought he just casually nearly dunked that one, but he can though.
Do they really want some more tomorrow night?
Celtics making the playoffs this year?
I think so. They'll beat enough really bad teams to make it.
and there's plenty of em
ain't that the truth. didn't expect to see so many teams floundering.
I'm beginning to think they are a pretty bad team themselves.
OK, so they currently sit at 9th in the conference.
Miami, Chicago, Sixers, Orlando, Indiana, and the Knicks are all better than them. Atlanta lost Horford, they were better than Boston with him, still probably are without him. That's 7.
The rest of the teams aren't very good, it would probably have to be Cleveland or Milwaukee. Thing is, they most likely get Miami or Chicago in Round 1 even if they make the playoffs.
You really think the Knicks are better? I'm just not buying into them. No backcourt and they depend too much on Anthony.
I don't think the Knicks are good by any means, just younger than Boston.
Jrue with the exclamation point that starts the "we want Lavoy "chants...
turner 4 3
Turner with another three.
Good rise and release Turner again.
Jo-3!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Meeks pouring it on w/ a contested three. That's funny. Wow, 26 for Meeks.
Look at Noc, what a waste.
Noc wanting some action! .... lol
Noc joins the party w/ a garbage time three. So much for the WAS defense not being that bad.
Meeks 10 - 11.
PHI 120, WAS 89 Final.
Ass kicking, complete. Great job. Now do it again.
moment of silence .... thank you, guys
big let-up in the 4th, they still win by 30
How funny is it that they let up, really badly, and still won by 30?
So Meeks or Lou for POTG?
And who said the Sixers were going to be tired tonight?
I would say Jodie, but I'm worried that he'll be awful tomorrow now that he was so hot in this game. Wish he was consistent instead of streaky
That is a too-hard decision, cause Lou was just fabulous, though so was Jodie, he was even more than fabulous when you look back at it. Sterling.
I am neither Nostradamus nor...
Malik Rose.
is jodie POTG?
yes!
This late run in the 4th was important for tomorrow's game. Will be a lot harder though...
14-19 (73.7%) from 3 is unreal...
Tonights 4th quarter has little bearing on a different game
Pretty good game for Wall. Managed as many assists as TOs and raised his FG % with a 3 for 8.
Eh, I can't kick dirt on Wall's grave w/ the clunker Jrue just put up. At least Jrue didn't pound his chest after that monster dunk in a 30-point game.
couldn't help myself - I've been underwhelmed by Wall since the first time I saw him. Jrue has been so inconsistent this year - have to think he'll shake it off.
Hahaha people are walking right past.mirakovits to get pix with the huge dancing guy, maybe we should all tweet ceoadam and ask to make him the new.mascot...
Anyone else watching the end of this Raptors/Pacers game? What the hell is going on w/ the floor on the baseline, is the Raptors sign super-imposed, or is it an optical illusion?
still watching postgame
Suppose to be 3D
Optical allusion...saw it the other night
Yep, here you go: http://www.nba.com/video/games/raptors/2011/12/18/0011100009_bos_tor_play3.nba/index.html
Its just written on an angle to appear to pop out and on TV. Its just an illusion. They do it in Europe a lot for soccer.
that's some crazy shit .. heh
that baseline you were talking about...
I can't take my eyes off it. Pretty smart to distract viewers away from what's happening on the floor if you're the Raptors :)
lol!
super-imposed ... hahahahhahah!
I was watching the raptors the day before they played the sixers, against the nets i think, and man they couldn't stop talking about that damn thing. It's very cool, perspective is a fun art thing to play with, loved it in middle school, when a ball boy or something sits on the base line in the right place they look like they're floating
Bulls celtics on ESPN right now
Jamaal Magloire airballing the FT for Toronto... what is he doing in there for the last play of the game? WTF?!
and they inbound it to him! That's just hilarious.
And you always have to identify him as "Former All Star Jamaal Magloire..."
Wow Spence in 19 min. 10 pt. 10 reb. 3 as. 1 steal 1 block, coming back from injury, nice.
@derekbodner Official attendance wsa 14,213. I'm not sure that numbers accurate.
Not to sing the praises of Meeks but, ...
10-11 from the floor overall
6-7 from 3!
4 rebs
2 dimes
2 stls
Don't expect often, warranted though.
Missed tonights game but it appears to have been another stellar beatdown of a terrible team and its faux-star. Looking forward to the recap.
One night, but that many didn't take well to Spencer for hire's post yesterday about starting Lou. Tonight may have shed some light on it. Noteworthy at the least.
maybe not take well, but not see it responsive
I didn't understand either of those comments.
same
read Spencer for hire's post yesterday morning regarding Lou and think about how he looked tonight
Heh, anyone see what Dalembert did the Kings?
Sammy plays 33 min. scores, 21 points, grabs, 16 rebounds, and blocks 4 shots crazy.
And so completely shuts down Cousins that Cousins implodes and has to be benched for almost all of the second half.
What a force Sam would be if he could play inspired ball every night.
Yes. A great lead-in to my box scores comment. Tonight, Kobe had his third straight 40-point game, dropping 42 on a .500 Cavs team. He now averages 31. Nets beat the Suns on the road - Williams had a huge night, 35 and 14 assists on 18 shots. Brooks added 20. Gortat led the Suns with 20 and 10. In the MIN-NOH game, Love had 34 and 15, Wesley Johnson continued to shoot his way out of the league with a 1-8 night for three (23.5% on the year), and Chris Kaman was 0-10. MIA lost its third straight, getting blown out by Denver in spite of a 35/5/6 night from LeBron (who again struggled from the foul line). Lawson had 24 and 9 assists on 9-11 shooting, perfect from inside the arc. In SAC-HOU, Dalembert, as you alluded to, had 21 and 16 with 4 blocks; Lowry had 25, 7 and 9 on 15 shots. Cousins had 3 blocks in 18 minutes, but was ineffectual otherwise. Indiana pulled it out over Toronto behind a big night from George Hill. Hansbrough tied his season-high 2 assists. Charlotte got blown out at home by a 2-9 Detroit team. Monroe had 19, 9 and 5; for the Bobcats, Bismack blocked 5 shots in 12 minutes, while missing all 3 of his shots, dropping his FG% to 35.7%.

Granger got tossed from that game, and Toronto really just gave it away late. First, Amir Johnson missed a FT that would've given them the lead, then he committed a bad foul on the other end, then they had a shot to tie it, but for some reason they not only had Jamaal Magloire on the floor, but they passed the ball right to him on the inbound play. He was fouled, airballed the first FT (missed by about 6 feet, literally), then bricked the second and that was the game. Was hoping TOR would pull that one out. There's a big log jam at the top of the Eastern Conference, pretty much rooting against every other team that could possibly be in contention for the 2-5 seeds.
Sam signed a one year deal with Houston for how much? Houston has one of those stathead Billy Beane type flip everything of value for draft pick GMs, no? and *how much* exactly is that trade exception from trading Speezy...?
About $5M less than Dalembert's making.
dislike...unless how much is Nocioni making this year again...?
