, all the time

Part two of the "Do You Want This Guy?" series features Sasha Vujacic, who has given himself the nickname, the Machine.

I figured it would helpful to use a standard format for these posts, so we'll try it out tonight.

  • Restricted Free Agent
  • Qualifying offer from the Lakers: $2,605,559
Thoughts On The Player

I like Vujacic a lot, the nickname, not so much. He's a big shooter who's blossomed in Phil Jackson's triangle (43.7% from three this season). He's got really good size for a shooting guard (6'7") and a toughness that should endear him to Philly fans.

If he was added to this team, he could immediately slide into the starting lineup in Willie Green's position, but the beauty of adding Sasha would be that it wouldn't eat up all of their cap space. They could afford to sign him and make a big splash at the PF position in a sign and trade or just an outright free agent signing, depending on Vujacic's price tag. He'd be a perfect sixth man to come in and spread the floor.

Thoughts on Likelihood

This is tricky. The Lakers are so far beyond the luxury tax threshold that a few million more really won't make a difference. It's all going to come down to how valuable they think Vujacic is. He played about 18 minutes/game this season, so I think they value him pretty highly. I think it would take an above-market offer, one the Lakers wouldn't be willing to match, to pry him away from the Lakers. Of course, Sasha himself would have to care more about money than being part of what might become a dynasty in L.A. As much as I'd love to see him in Philly, I don't think it's all that likely.

As always, leave your thoughts in the comments, would you like to see the Machine in the Sixers rotation?
