After the first quarter of the Sixers' 81-79 loss to the Blazers tonight I was ready to start writing, but I held off. The Sixers scored 13 points in the opening quarter, and looked about as bad as any NBA team I've ever seen. I'm glad I waited, because they really did show some life the rest of the way.
Webber was dismal from the floor, as usual, but he actually stepped up to hit a big three to tie the game, at least someone wants to take the big shot. Iguodala had a great scoring game, but didn't distribute the ball as well as he should've (27 points, 3 assists, 5 turnovers). He was the only offensive highlight, for most of the game it looked like the Sixers were afraid to shoot, except Willie Green whose eyes light up whenever he touches the ball.
All told, it was another tough loss, and one more lottery ball for the draft, if you're inclined to look at it that way. Best case scenario: Iguodala really grows up in front of our eyes playing what amounts to 60 games of garbage time and evolves into a leader.
Still no trade for Iverson, but they erased him from the locker room, so I guess he really isn't coming back.
