hope is all we got.

Ok, this quote taken from the write-up of the game from espn.com needs to be displayed for as many to see as possible -
"Jordan didn't seem concerned that Brand had been upset coming off the bench. 'It doesn't really affect me,' Jordan said, before smiling and adding, 'I think he told Jrue to go up and block the dunk.'"

If this doesn't show a conflict between Jordan and Brand, I don't know what does...However, I do know that it's absolutely horrible to voice these types of comments. Another reason why he needs to be fired.

yeah he is one amazing a-hole

I read that and thought the same thing. If I were Brand and heard that, only two things would keep me from hitting him: 1) Ending up like Spreewell 2) Cutting my hand on his braces severely enough to miss the year.

Tremendous flaming A-Hole

thats why Jrue didnt play? Because he blocked a willie green dunk in practice ? Ironcally the one thing we needed in the last stretch of the game is the reason Jrue didnt play. Defense. That's a power move by EJ...and that "hard ass" coach routine only works when your winning or even competitive. (see Pat Riley, last years with heat)If Stefanski wants to save HIS job he better get rid of EJ....hes not going to turn it around and I doubt he will get annother head coaching job after this mess.

Wait till Monday; no Jrue ? Billups and Lawson will go off and J.R. Smith will be covered by who ? Iggy will have his hands full with Melo. This could be ugly!!!

We want a 15-game losing streak - we want this team to come back from the "Disney on Ice" road trip with as ugly a record as possible (I think that - even with Iverson - 10-and-23 is a distinct possibility).

Fire. Jordan. NOW.

Now that Willie Green had a "good" scoring game it gives more reason for Eddie J(he doesn't even deserve the name Jordan)to play him 57.5 minutes a game. Green will continue to ruin our fastbreak with slowness and rediculous turnovers/shots. He will continue to shoot from the foul line and miss, he also will continue to not play any D. Willie Green does all that on a regular basis but continues to play and even climb the corprate ladder, he start NOW!!! Somebody said it before but Eddie J is here for sabatoge. We have so much talent and potential but Eddi Jordan continues to go through his communist rotations.

I'm not defending Green's entire game, because he was bad defensively, - and did take some bad shots - but the last play was as much Sam's fault as it was his.

we disagree, but that's cool. The guard has to get over the screen, and he failed horribly(as usual), leaving Sam basically one on one beyond the arc against Felton.

To add to that. Sam was out the majority of the game and thrown in on the last play. Because Eddie J had a epiphany to throw in some defense. You can't expect a center who has been sitting on the bench with tired and stiff legs to defend a point guard coming at him full speed on his first play.

Well, Sam is a bonehead, we all know that. However, there are many times within the game where Sam is needed at least until a more competent center is acquired. We don't actually need Willie. He's just there, and overplayed.

You guys should have a fire Eddie Jordan rally at your road trip.

I was just reading a Kate Fagan blog post. The brace licker responds to igoudala's sprained ankle and possible unavailability for tomorrow nights game with the following: "With Willie scoring 26 last night and adding Allen, maybe, into the starting lineup, that's not a bad fall-back plan."

I just threw up a little in my mouth.

A little?

finally! a defensively oriented back court. iverson and willie! watch out denver!

So for you 16 feet and out is a bad shot for Willie? I ask because he's shooting 54% from 16-23 feet, and even last year he shot 42% from there, not bad at all, so I'm not sure these are bad shots for him.

42% on a two-point jumper is .84 points, which is NOT a good shot. Especially not with 15+ left on the shot clock. That 54% is an aberration.

Brian's right. The better defenses prefer to force the offense to shot long, contested twos to maximize their benefits and minimize the damage. Those long twos are low-percentage offense that, when missed, can trigger fastbreaks on long rebounds and run outs while only giving up 2 points if it does go in.

Willie Green specializes in the shot the defense wants you to take.

Isn't it true, though, that often good shots are not available? Otherwise teams would never attempt long mid-range jumpers, or at least smart teams wouldn't. But they do because it can be hard to get inside, or get a good shooter open for three. And that being the case, a 42% 18-footer (54% this season, however flukishly) is not such a bad shot. It's certainly better than that shot taken by a player who rarely hits it (like Thad at 25%, or Brand at 32%). Iguodala averages a little over 5 attempts from that range per game, and only makes 40%. Collectively the team takes nearly 20 a game and makes 40%. Are these all bad shots? I'm sure some of them are cases of settling or shots where we should have passed the ball instead, but sometimes that's what the defense gives him or gives us.

Taken periodically, they are acceptable. But a team should not make a steady diet of it. Better to attack the rim and create higher-percentage opportunities or get defenders in foul trouble.

Fact remains, most defenses prefer the long, contested 2-pointer
