Game 78 Thread: PHI @ BOS

Can someone please explain to me what Daniels is going to bring to this team that Turner does not? AS far as I know he is a below average shooter. He is 36. I assume he does not and cannot get to the rim. Does he play great defense? Why Daniels? Isn't there a better Lou Williams replacement out there? I am just very confused/depressed about this whole situation. Turner needs minutes, and if Lou is going to be out or at least unhealthy during the playoffs, NOW is the time to let Turner work things out.

Court_visioN reply to MW on Apr 5 at 18:50

relax. all signs are pointing to turner getting a big chance with Lou being out. Think of antonio daniels as an insurance policy.

Did Collins ever coach Daniels? Maybe it's a comfort thing. He's said that the team has enough youth and needs more vets. I think Daniels is insurance because he is not sure about Turner. Obviously this shows his lack of confidence in Turner, but it might also be to have an extra body for the playoffs (Daniels is available if 76ers want the extra body). I'm pretty sure the 10 day contract will decide if he will be worthy of keeping him for the playoffs

Initially, I thought it would mean Turner wasn't getting the opportunity, but I'm feeling better about the move now. They're down a guard in the rotation, I think he's just insurance. Lou's out, they need someone to fill the role Turner was filling, simple as that.

According to the unbiased reporting during the Celts pregame, Pierce has been on his best offensive run of the season recently. I wonder if that continues w/ Iguodala on him.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 19:39

97-90, huh? W/o Lou?

Wish you could send some of that optimism my way...I'm usually full of it when it comes to playing the Celts, but the Lou injury just dampens it of sorts.

40+ minutes, 25+ points for Jrue. That's my key.

eddies' heady's reply to Brian on Apr 5 at 19:42

I'd say it depends on Hawes getting double figures. Or Meeks going on a hot streak for around 15-18 pts.

Alright, here we go. Lineups are as I listed above.

And the corpse that used to be Jermaine O'Neal doesn't even both jumping for the tip.

Contested Meeks three on the first trip, ugh.

Jesus, Hawes just lost O'Neal for that O-board.

Jrue breaks the seal.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 19:43

Meeks shot out of a cannon, good look-ahead by Jrue.

Jrue w/ the nice D-board and push to Meeks.

isn't KG brand's man?

EB has missed two of his money shots.

Rondo to the line, but the foul was on Jrue.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 19:46

Jrue w/ good rhythm stepping into that 3!

Jrue three off an Iguodala kick, I believe.

EB feeds Jrue for the mini-oop. nice.

Brand is getting either lost or eaten alive by Garnett.

c'mon EB

Good push. Let Rondo keep taking long twos.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 19:49

Meeks 3 off good pass and spacing from Hawes.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 19:49

Ugh Jrue, not a good pass on that break to Dre.

Garnett shoved Iguodala in the back on that oop. No fucking whistle. They won't show a replay.

Jrue fouled on the jumper.

eddies' heady's reply to Brian on Apr 5 at 19:50

wanted to see a replay too just to see if Jrue did indeed give a good pass and the possible foul

Jodie out on the break, great push by AI9.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 19:52

Yeah Jrue, attack Rondo. Make him play you or foul you. Just attack like that.

Aggressive Jrue

Ugh, Jrue turned his head and completely lost Rondo. Spence sent him to the line, though. Which is a good thing. Of course, he'll probably hit another pair just to eff with my theory.

The CEO of Legal Seafood has the worst rug I've ever seen.

Yup 4/4 from the line for Rondo. He shoots like 53.8% on the season.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 19:56

Come on, was that really a foul on Jrue?

that was great hawes, Jrue needed to dump the ball to you and you run away from him and then let KG dominate you. A+

what the hell happened there.. replay that foul

Two on Jrue. Fuck me. 11 early points.

Turner and Thad in for Jrue and EB.

Collins can't sit him for half the second quarter like he usually does when he's in foul trouble.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 19:57

Evan vs Rondo is not a good matchup on either of the court.

If Turner uses his size, it's a good matchup for us on the offensive end. Defensively, not so much.

eddies' heady's reply to Brian on Apr 5 at 20:01

I just think Rondo can easily pick it from him if he's handling up top.

heh, too many comments in a short time.

I wonder if we'll see a Jodie/Iggy/Young/4/5 lineup today.

I can usually tell if the pace of a game is quick by whether I feel rushed to make comments. This one has been quick.

Good push by Turner, finds Thad for the layup.

Did you see the previous pick play when Turner was handling? They were playing 10 feet off him.

Defense has gone to shit since the subs.

Alvin reply to Brian on Apr 5 at 20:00

he really went past Rondo like he wasn't there. And shit Thad was fast on the release.

Rich reply to Alvin on Apr 5 at 20:07

I don't know what it is, but Rondo is way overrated as a one-on-one defender.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:00

They don't show replays for shit unless it benefits the home team. I want to see what happened on that Jrue foul at the baseline.

Ikeepnotmakinganaccount on Apr 5 at 20:00

Does Hawes not realize that there are better shots than a long two right inside the 3 point line or a running spinning hook, both with at least 15 seconds on the shot clock?

Turner w/ the catch and shoot long two, good.

Love the collapse on Rondo on that last play. And Turner is aggressive, like that.

Good shot, no finish by Turner on that one.

Good drive and finish the next time down the floor. He looks good.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:02

Aggressiveness feels good doesn't it Evan?

Hawes, why are you helping on rondo on that pick and roll? Rondo can't shoot a 23 footer ffs, get onto kristic and don't l et him get orbs.

Noc in for AI9.

Gave Glen Davis two of the jump shot looks that he loves in one possession

why roll it up with 21 secs on clock and no shot clock? really?

PHI 26, BOS 24 after one.

Thought the PG play really carried the offense, first Jrue then Turner.

I'll give Noc credit on that last play for playing off Rondo all the way down the lane. He just doesn't want to shoot.

Does anyone remember jrue's second turnover? The first was the missed oop where I think Iguodala was fouled, can't recall the second. Box score says Allen stole the ball from him.

If you told me Iggy and Brand wouldn't score in the 1st I wouldn't expect us to be leading.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:06

Interested to see how Doug is going to mix and match these combos with bench still out there and which starters he'll trickle back in.

Jesus, Daniels is in there already?

Bricks a three on his first look.

The moment Iggy went out Pierce took a shot and made it.

Daniels was reluctant to take that shot.

i'm not a fan of the #22

Noc had Brand wide open at the foul line and instead went with that garbage dribble drive/fallaway air ball.

Atta boy, Evan.

Turner REALLY aggressive. Gotta love it. Nocioni and Daniels out there at the same time. Ugh.

Apparently Pierce gets 10 seconds to get the ball in bounds in Boston.

Alvin reply to Brian on Apr 5 at 20:11

i'm getting the Boston feed and even they said it was generous.

Bullshit call on Thad. WTF

Bullshit foul called on Thad there. Very little contact and he was there to cut the baseline off. Hate that shit.

Alvin reply to Brian on Apr 5 at 20:15

They seemed to realise that and called one the other end on Davis. Every time he complains about a call I'm waiting to see if he would burst into tears.

Thad with the '4 year 44 million dollar Nets contract' reverse dunk :)

Anyone else seeing what strong pick and roll defense can do? Be aggressive EB.

Turner is taking full advantage of his opportunity....so far.

I'm already so sick of Blake Griffin.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:13

Welcome, Thad! Over the head slam!

Is it possible to disable all the ads in the game threads? Loading takes forever.

I took down that ticket widget, that's pretty much all I can do.

eddies' heady's reply to Brian on Apr 5 at 20:17

Thanks so much, it's working much faster already. apprec

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:15

3rd chance point. Good hustle on the boards.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:16

Daniels looks rather spry and quick to be 36.

someone please tell me i am misinterpreting this and that Daniels is NOT now running point over Turner....hopefully it was just a 1-2 possession fluke....

ET plays well at point, Collins obv makes adjustment to let daniels run point / c'mon.

MW reply to Jason on Apr 5 at 20:17

haha jason we think alike

Daniels on the board. When you score points, I have to add you to the roster on the top nav.

I hate that Nocioni just seems to throw the ball up like a prayer that has little chance of going in.

Turner to the line after nearly turning it over. He can penetrate against all these guys.

That was a tend on Pierce.

Alvin reply to Brian on Apr 5 at 20:21

No idea why as soon as Daniels ran the point for a couple of possessions it's like Turner forgot that he could penetrate against those guys.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:19

To still be up by one with the combos from our bench in there says a lot.

Wasn't that a goaltend on Noc's layup by Pierce? thought it had hit the backboard...

In addition to the hate Boston factor I gotta say I hate Paul Pierce he is such a drama queen and he seems to have been in Boston forever. I hate the smug look on his face, look at him acting tough scoring when Iggy is on the bench.

Iguodala back in. Pierce is 0/0 with zero points w/ AI9 on the floor, 2/3 for 7 points when AI9 is on the bench.

Alvin reply to Brian on Apr 5 at 20:22

Case in point, Iggy comes in, Pierce bricks a long jumper

is there any way i can watch this game online?

Ugh, put him on the line.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:22

Ugh, just a bad forced pass from Jrue, come on...

That was a bad pass, no way that gets through w/ Garnett in there. Needed to be a lob or no pass at all. Come on.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:23

Come on Jodie. Ray just blew by you on that one.

There we go. Jrue to AI9 for the dunk.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:24

Great find by Jrue after defense had shifted strong side.

Good move Brand.

Love that choice by Jrue to bring the ball back out

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:25

Dammit grab the board EB. Or rather give a hard foul on ROndo barreling thru the lane.

Ugh gave up the O-board.

Jrue is forcing passes, needs to be more calm.

Yup, completely agree. Got lucky they blew the whistle on that last one. He should be forcing w/ his dribble and collapsing the defense.

The Celts are not a good rebounding team, they shouldn't be getting all these second looks.

Shit Doug looked pissed.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:28

Ha! Doug cussing like hell after Dre threw that careless pass. ANd ripping up paper!! ahah

Turner in for Jrue.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:29

I often wish Andre would just bank his free throws in. Or at least try.

Turner w/ the follow. Nice.

Great hustle by Meeks, a WTF by Hawes. Great putback by ET, he's on today.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:30

Damn Hawes, you couldn't finish that? ET bailed you out w/ the hustle.

wow, ET for jrue wow

Turner w/ the nice find.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:31

ET w/ a good cross-court find for a Jodie 3!

Some players think banking shots is uncool. Better to have a cool miss than an uncool bank shot.

That's a horseshit call. Meeks just got out of his way. I fucking hate these motherfuckers.

kind of an illegal screen on kg but ok.

Weak fucking call, Pierce runs into Jodie. Such BS

Man, Iguodala has no fucking touch tonight, not a bit.

Alvin reply to Brian on Apr 5 at 20:36

I honestly thought he was gonna miss both.

Hope he picks it up in the 2nd.

Hey thats cool Pierce can run into his teammate and call a foul on the 76ers. Wonder if the 76ers would get the same call (sarcasm intended)

Daniels getting a lot more run than I thought he would.

And he walks. Great.

don't understnad the daniels sub.

That one looks like a play Doug drew up. too bad about the travel.

PHI 50, BOS 54 at the half.

Better than I would've expected considering the heavy minutes the bench played. Of course, it wasn't really the bench that had problems.

Damn Hawes almost made the prayer.

NY is up 21 over the Raptors

20 points on 8/10 shooting from our PGs. 4 boards and 5 assists as well.

Jrue needs to get his head back in this game right from the jump in the third. He was dominating until he picked up that second foul. Collins got him through the half w/ only two, needs to be aggressive and smart.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:39

Want to complain, but can't after considering who he had to throw out there in that half. And Dre and EB not giving us much on offense.

Jrue needs to show much more poise.

Sixers should have signed a shooter imo.

Not a fan of Daniels

Turner early frontrunner for POTG.

Alvin reply to Brian on Apr 5 at 20:49

Yea, no TOs, been aggressive. Really kept the offense going in Jrue's absence.

From my recollection Turner has had quite a few 1st half stat lines similar to tonights (7-9 pts, couple points and boards). However he often has failed to duplicate the performance in the 2nd half. Lets hope that is not the case tonight

Thad must get more shot attempts than Hawes. He has to.

Seeing this half suggests yet again that we match up quite well against the Cs. Come on, let's beat them and make it a playoff matchup.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:54

Garnett walked, no call....

Second half starts just like the first, clean look for Garnett.

Jrue on KG. Ugh. Bad memories.

Come on Jrue that was such a good look.

Damnit, needed that Jrue three. Had all day to take it.

Jesus Christ Spencer it's freakin Jermaine O'Neal

Still a mismatch lul.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:56

Not a good start at all. We look discombobulated on offense, disinterested and flat on D

9-point game, wake up now or this could turn into a laugher. Hawes is doing his best to make it a laugher.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 20:57

And I wish Dre would stop shooting jumpers. He had the middle of the lane for a floater/pullup but drifted back for a 16 footer...sheesh

yea damn it take it to the hole

7-0 run to start the third. 11-point lead for the Celts.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:00

Dammit Jrue, bad pass again.

Jesus christ, what a horrible turnover out of the timeout.

I seriously wonder if Spencer can jump over a phone book

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:01

Hawes, just finish the damn shot please, it was from one foot....

Get Hawes the fuck out of the game.

For F's sake Hawes, you can't make that?

Please put Thad/Turner in and get Hawes the F out of there.

Hawes is 1/10.

ET in at the 8 min mark :O

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:03

Sloppy, sloppy on two straight possessions.

this looks like butler last night

God damn just when Jrue got aggressive again he couldn't finish. Come on, those were 4 terrible minutes of basketball.

Going on six now.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:04

Andre jumping out of bounds and then, passing. shit

Finally, scoreless over the first 5:41 of the quarter.

Oh thank God, after 5min 40 secs Brand knocks one down. It was hilarious when Thad got the rebound on the previous play, looked left to Iggy, went "hell no" and passed it to Jrue. Haha. Iggy just wayward tonight.

I noticed that too :)

I miss lou

eddies' heady's reply to Jason on Apr 5 at 21:07

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:06

There we go, good hard push by Dre for slam and-one. Let's go, it's right there.

Cant believe it's only a single digit lead, dam rite Iggy! MAde the and 1

OK, let's go. Keep this fucking game alive. Defense has really picked up since sissy went to the bench.

There we go. Nice push by AI9, hit the freebies, Evan.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:09

Good push again by Dre. ET to the line.

They've forced Rondo to take J's on two of the last few possessions.

Moving screen on kristic.

Fuck, Thad. Blown bunny.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:10

Fuck Thad. good pass from Jrue, he blows it

God dam it Thad cant miss those

Turner has been the best player on the floor for the Sixers today

Nice thing is Doug noticed.

Shit how did Thad miss that, it was Spencer-like.

9-0 run for Boston to start the half, 10-1 run for the Sixers since Hawes was put out to pasture (but I think Turner for Meeks has had a bigger impact, honestly).

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:11

We're pushing the hell out of the ball off every miss. That's the key vs these guys and their stout half court D - early offense.

Iguodala's knee sure looks good. Have you seen him sprinting down the floor on every make? Pierce doesn't have a prayer of matching that.

This sideline reporter is a fucking joke.

Should read miss, not make. Thad butter fingers. Fuck me. Back up to 8.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:13

Really good hands by EB for the turnover.

Wasn't Thad out in front on that foul? Should've been a clear path.

Come on Thad, gotta catch that

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:15

10 pt game just like that.........ugh

I want ET running point.

And back to 10. Talk about a game of runs.

They really miss having Jodie out there, you can just see where opportunities would be for a three but it's Turner out there instead of Jodie.

Nice post by ET.

eddies' heady's reply to Brian on Apr 5 at 21:20

You've confused me - why did you feel Turner for Meeks had a bigger impact a few ago rather than Hawes exiting?

Because Turner was doing more positive than Thad was. Had nothing to do w/ Meeks.

eddies' heady's reply to Brian on Apr 5 at 22:36

Oh, I was curious because of your comment at 9:11 where you said Turner for Meeks had a bigger impact than Hawes exiting, then I read this post where you said Meeks was needed in some spots instead of Turner, so didn't understand what your thought process was.

Cant believe they havent posted up ET on Rondo before that. Go back to it again

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:17

Get this below 6 in this last minute and a half. just two stops.

Meeks for Jrue.

I like it, Jrue hasn't played well since the 1st.

That ball went off Iguodala because Pierce grabbed his fucking arm.

coulda been 2 free throws. shut the fuck up celtics fans.

Thought ET got fouled there. Like the aggressiveness.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:19

Turner would have been better off to throw that o-board back out. The whole D was collapsed on him.

Shit, Pierce 3. not good

If Turner is posting up Delonte or Rondo (which he should), what the hell is Thad doing on his side?

PHI 65, BOS 75 after three.

Schizophrenic third quarter, a bunch of runs both ways. Need to defend like they did during their good run in the fourth, please.

Way to stop the ball on that last play, Daniels.

F. F. F.

Well thats a shitty way to end the quarter. Cant miss the 2nd free throw Dre.

Though Evan played some pretty good D on Rondo

It took getting down big for them to show any intensity in the third, if they don't have it right from the first possession in the fourth, this one is over.

With Lou out I'd expect more shots for Thad, hasn't happened.

OK, Thad's ready.

Fuck you, Hawes.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:25

Get the fuck up Hawes! Can't finish ass.......

Fuck you again, Hawes.

bad shot by et, he's got to cut the off balance crap out early in shot clocks.

How bad do Speights/Brackins have to be to not get minutes? Hawes is so terrible today, worse than his usual. Surely either of them can put the ball in the basket, and are not any worse than Hawes on D.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:27

F me, Thad.

Man, some nights Thad just loses all ability to handle the ball. And I'm not even talking about dribbling, I'm talking about just catching and holding it.

This is over.

Jrue's 0/5 since the first quarter. Hawes leads the teams in shots, and he's 1/12. Does that make sense to you on any level?

Nice drive by turner.

Good move Turner. For whatever's sake what is Hawes doing out there? Is Brand feeling that broken hand or something?

Turner corner three. Nothing but net.

Mercifully, EB for Spence.

Green is a tough matchup for Turner at the three.

I'm surprised ET didn't jump on that Shot fake.

Alvin reply to Jason on Apr 5 at 21:35

me too.

Jeff Green is a very tough matchup for Turner.

Turner is the runaway POTG tonight.

AI for Meeks. Collins wants to give it one last go down 13 with 6:16 left.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:34

EB has missed at least 4 or 5 of his sweet spot jumpers tonight.

I'd get EB, JH and AI out of there now. They aren't coming back from down 15 with 5 minutes left.

Heh. Well, at least it looks like the team hasn't quit. 4-0 run, two makes for Turner in transition.

Turner jammed a finger or something.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:36

I've been asking myself for a minute now, wtf is Jrue trying to do? He's not even looking to set others up, just looking for his own shot, recklessly it seems at times.

Thad has been terrible in the 2nd, Jrue has been off since the questionable foul call in the first. Meeks has not attempted a shot in the second half.

I say let's rest Iggy and Brand, keep giving it to Turner and see how many points he can put up.

et's career high is 23 right?

Yeah, but that one doesn't count. It's unclear whether this one would.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:39

Doug mentioned yesterday in the videos posted that he wanted to get Jodie close to 15 shots, he only has 7, around the same as he usually gets.

he gave ET a lot of Jodie's minutes.

eddies' heady's reply to Jason on Apr 5 at 21:43

and i'm not sure that's a good thing. maybe should have come from someone else's.

Rich reply to Jason on Apr 5 at 22:10

Not really, Jodie still played 31 minutes. That's 4 under his average.

Rich reply to Rich on Apr 5 at 22:11

in March I meant, he averaged 35 minutes a game in March.

Hawes back in. And he grabs a couple o-boards and gets the putback.

Hawes made one! OMG

thanks for showing up when it doesn't matter spence.

If Rondo is guarding Evan go to him in the post, not that it really matters now....

Since the start of the second quarter on offense Turner's been playing like Jrue and Jrue has been playing like Turner. Gosh this is terrible I wish Iggy would clothesline Pierce, it'd be worth a two-game suspension (rest Iggy) and heck it'd make me feel somewhat less pissed.

How many airballs is that this half?

Meeks with the airball? F this shit, give it to Evan.

The moment Speights caught it, he shot it and bricked it.

LOL speights

Speights got stuffed by Jeff Green to complete the humiliation.

Court_visioN on Apr 5 at 21:49

LOL speights got owned.

eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 21:51

Fracked up game. Lou's absence was glaring. Have to win that one tomorrow night. It won't be easy because EB has struggled all year with Amare.

Thad got injured that year when we were rolling, Lou this year, Sixers fans can't catch a break (not to mention EB's broken hand and Dre's not 100% knee) geez

Steve v reply to eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 22:10

So in your opinion does this game count as a good one for Turner? One of the best defensive teams in the league, thrusted into a new role he performed very well . Doug finally played to his strengths and put the ball in his hands for stretches.

eddies' heady's reply to Steve v on Apr 5 at 22:28

Sure it counts as a good one, though it doesn't change my opinion of him or of him being on this team.

I said way back in Nov/Dec that he was a backup point guard (and was ridiculed for it) and tonight you pretty much saw that's what he is and can excel at. Though I'm not sure I'd go that far to say he was 'thrust into a new role' because he has had many opportunities throughout this year where Doug let him play that role and he didn't flourish for whatever reason.

It may have been considered too soon and too blunt for me to make such a declaration at the end of the last calender year of him being "nothing but a backup PG", but wouldn't you somewhat agree that that is what he is, at least on this team?

Which makes my venom for him still stand, because I wasn't looking for a backup player that is ball dominant and supposedly can't shoot, that is redundant on this team, with that high of a draft pick. I sparred with Derek a year ago over him and stated then that he was an Iguodala clone (but not in the literal), which is about what he is although a much lesser version.

Steve v reply to eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 22:36

I don't see him as a backup pg I see him as a wing player that needs to be able to create offense for himself and others to be most effective. I think he will eventually be that for this team because he is much more of a natural scorer than Jrue or AI9 and this team will need him to be the go to guy .

eddies' heady's reply to Steve v on Apr 5 at 22:56

In the kindest way, never happen (the go to guy thing). Too many tangibles working against him. Limited range, inconsistent jumper, not quick enough first step, limited elevation when meeting defenders in paint. I disagree on him being a more natural scorer than Jrue.

Ok, so if you see him as a wing player, do you mean backup wing player or starting wing player (assuming replacing Iguodala?)

If you think he should eventually move into Dre's role then I see the team going downward in a big way. I can't bring myself to see (from viewing him all year) where he's this impact player on this level. The day he's gameplanned for will be a sad one, I just don't see him cutting it as other coaches exploit his many weaknesses.

My view on him is as a career bench player that has a middling career that screams mediocrity in the team's sense. I'm tired of that and wanted it to change so bad with whomever that pick was and it ain't happening with him, fairly or unfairly. Expectations came with that pick and I can't help that.

I still hold firm to the sooner we move him, the better. 1) I don't want a project that is 23 years old, 19 yrs old like Jrue - yes - but not at that age and with an upcoming re-worked shot. 2) Or I don't want a guy where we have to forcefeed into a role that two guys already capably fill. 3) Or I don't want to witness management yet again try to turn this guy into a shooting guard when I feel he's just not (which I think you'd agree).

No "Dear Evan, you suck" letter tonight?

johnrosz reply to eddies' heady's on Apr 5 at 22:49

was good to see him make some good plays against a strong defensive team though. He's only shown in up and down games to this point, can't hate on an efficient 21 and 5 off the bench. I was impressed by the weak side find of Jodie for 3. Was hoping to see more than flashes at this point, but I'll take it for now...

eddies' heady's reply to johnrosz on Apr 5 at 23:06

Def can't hate on that. Esp as he's usually wilted vs good D teams.

That's the crux with me though. The optimism will be like opened floodgates after him having this game. I would assume the usual only-to-be-letdown again is coming. How can you not?

May be off here a bit, but this is his 4th or 5th "decent" game out of 80. That flash you speak of only rears its head every 20 games or so at that pace. And as fans we become guilty of "we'll take it for now", I guess to continue to hold onto that ever-shortening thread of hope. Sorry, I'm just not that lenient I guess. Those flashes do pretty much nothing for me. I want(ed) more! :)

Listening to the Boston feed, their studio guys are now saying they would love to play the sixers instead of the Knicks, just based on this game and the Knicks have reached a soft spot in their schedule and won a few. Whatever...... Give me the c's for the sixers before the heat any day!!!!! Is it just me or does all their color guys suck? Tommy and Donny Marshall offer nothing!

The lack of Lou in this game was scary glaring. I hope all you haters learn to appreciate THE BOSS. We didn't score for a 6 minute stretch at one point. Lou is great for bailing out an offense on a cold streak. The good thing is, it's going to come down to luck in terms of who we play in the 1st round. We may be just as likely to play the Cs by getting the 7 seed as the 6. I think tomorrow would be a nice statement game though.

PHI 82, BOS 99 final.

Very good news from Matt Cutts, says URL shortening services can pass google page rank when they use a 301 redirect. Thus websites like bit.ly and goo.gl are good to use - fantastic stuff!
