Sixers on pace to sell more tickets in 33 games this season than they did for 41 last season: http://www.nba.com/sixers/news/sixers_report_soaring_ticket_s_2012_01_27.html

...yet how come nobody here ever answers when i ask who else is going to games??? Brian, are you planning any DF field trips this season?

Well, i'd love to go to a game. Unfortunately i live a few thousand kilometers away :(.

Sure, but convert that to miles and it's not as bad :)

A lot of people on here live out of the area. That's probably got a lot to do w/ it.

Yeah, I haven't nailed down a date for the field trip, but we're going to do one.

When you are talking about guys under 25 the difference between playing 27 minutes and playing 40 minutes in a back to back won't be a huge factor. For guys in he 30's it is a big deal.

It's a bigger deal for guys in their 30's, but it does have an impact on younger guys as well. Especially big men and perimeter players who are very active. Legs get tired on the second night, even for younger guys. Make them have to play from behind for a couple of hours, and the heavy legs will turn plays that would've been drives into jumpers instead.

Of course, if the game is close the emotion will give them energy and then you probably won't notice the difference. Of course, when the game over it all looks the same. If they lose going away, they look like they were tired. If the game is close, it looks like the 40 min the night before didn't have an impact. I sort of see it as a mental and physical thing. If they've got something to fight for, they'll ignore the fatigue, or fight through it. If the game seems like a lost cause, they'll take the readily available excuse and won't put the effort out there because their energy is low to begin with. Kind of like how the Sixers folded against the Heat, but in GSW and a couple other second nights of b-2-b's they pushed through the wall.

Before the season began Collins talked repeatedly that the most important problem of the condensed schedule is the mental aspect not the physical. It's difficult to motivate guys to provide energy every second night on average. Most of them just get mentally tired of playing too much.

Brian you forgot to put up your prediction.

I like all of your ideas for taking advantage of a tired Detroit team, particularly meeting the ball carrier around half-court and pressing up. In addition to wearing them out this could result in better and more fast break/transition opps for our boys. Still, Knight and Stuckey both are pesky lane- drivers who could get the Sixers to foul them...

I don't think it's too early to consider upcoming games and saving guys' energy either (i.e. Orlando, Miami) altho perhaps not on this thread. Still, I've been scouting both the Magic and the Heat for our upcoming games. Last year we matched up very well against the Heat and played with good intensity - fire even. I am hoping - praying - the crew will get up for the chance to show the world we can compete with +.500 teams

Happy BDAY to @mindofAI9 everyone bring Bday signs to the game tonight because I tonight is "Iguodala Night" #2kreference

10:57 AM - 28 Jan 12

anyone else wondering if those revolutionaries will give him a hard time or be nice to AI9 tonight..?

Do the revolutionaries yell at him? I mean I hate them and think they are amazingly obnoxious, but it would be pretty funny to find out that a bunch of buffoons who come to every game on the Sixers time are bashing one of their own.

They don't yell at him. You would find that out by going to a game. They're incredibly pro-Sixers.

hawes out tonight, hopefully plays monday

What is Nikola's injury status? When is he coming back?

anyone think the sixers can win 45-50 this year? looks like Kmart is coming back, think he could help us at all?

user-pic
Stan reply to g on Jan 28 at 19:06
+/-

I think we can but it's unlikely, we'd have to go 32-15. I think we'll go 30-17.

My gut feeling is that Kmart will go to NYK.

Is he really going to want to come back to a team that's 10 games under .500?

user-pic
Stan reply to Brian on Jan 28 at 19:12
+/-

They'll still be in the playoff race and NY is the type of "glamor/star" market a guy like Kmart would love to play in.

I also don't think Thorn will go out of his way to get Martin and I'm not sure how good their relationship is.

Maybe, they'll be in the race, maybe not. He'll have offers from teams that are doing more than competing for a spot, though.

I'd like the Sixers to get him, but doubt Thorn will actively look for it.

Phew, just made it home in time.

I got word from someone at the game that Hawes was on the floor working out, but Collins apparently said he wouldn't play. I figured the achilles thing would linger for him, what's more troublesome to me is Vucevic. A thigh contusion has kept him out for a week now with no timetable for his return?

user-pic
eddies' heady's reply to Brian on Jan 28 at 19:08

It was originally diagnosed as a knee strain the night of it though.

I think Collins is risking these easier games by making sure Hawes and/or Vucevic will be ready for next week's much stronger opponents.

user-pic

Really nice crowd, hope they're tanked up.

And we're off....Battie loses the tip.

Prince is back and playing, which is kind of a good thing for the Sixers. I still have nightmares about that Daye three last year.

Shooter's roll EB.

Meeks guarding Stuckey, don't like that matchup.

user-pic
Court_visioN on Jan 28 at 19:12

Jrue's ball denial is awesome. The Pistons couldn't really get into their set until 7 seconds left in the shot clock

user-pic
eddies' heady's on Jan 28 at 19:13
+/-

I like the idea, but can't we get Jrue a better look to get him going that just him dribbling for nearly 15+ secs?

EB had that before the dribble, should've just one up w/ it.

user-pic
eddies' heady's on Jan 28 at 19:15

What a pick by Dre!

Jodie? come on man, that looked bad from the start

user-pic
Court_visioN reply to eddies' heady's on Jan 28 at 19:16

Jrue had Iguodala along the right side for the dunk, chose to hit Jodie for the 3.

Ugh, Jodie x2. Wide open three brick, then the walk. Damnit.

user-pic
Court_visioN on Jan 28 at 19:15

Meeks with a rough start.

Jrue's doing a nice job distributing, no assists coming out of it, though.

user-pic
eddies' heady's on Jan 28 at 19:16

EB better get ready for those young legs of Monroe. He once was like that.

There we go, Meeks.

user-pic
eddies' heady's on Jan 28 at 19:17

Monroe grinding another one.

That was the first time they didn't double Monroe down low.

There's another assist for Jrue that turns into a wide-open missed shot.

user-pic

Damn Elton, another potential Jrue assist blown. Wide open again too.

user-pic

Good defense by Lavoy there on Monroe.

Tough matchup for the rook. Let's see how he does.

EB actually got a whistle. That's a rarity.

Jerebko is a guy that scrares me. Hate playing against guys w/ crazy energy.

Meeks played good D so far.

Nice work, Jrue.

Imagine if we had Greg Monroe coming off our bench?

Why would he be coming off the bench?

user-pic

user-pic

Ummm, are the Pistons even gonna make 75 tonight too? heh

user-pic
eddies' heady's on Jan 28 at 19:26

That's being too generous, will they get to 60?

Really good work by the interior D so far. Monroe has 6, but on 3/8 shooting. No easy looks for drivers either.

user-pic

Good help D Thad. Good job.

Great, great defense on that possession. 3/9 for Monroe now.

Does it seem Turner goes baseline much? He can't be cutting himself off like that.

Nope, Lou for three.

user-pic
eddies' heady's on Jan 28 at 19:33

Damn Lou!!!!!!

Wish you wouldn't settle, but if they're gonna look like that left-step off the dribble J, fine by me.

Turner is shooting 63% from the line as a guard / SF. Pretty awful

Worse than that now. He was good last year, too. Wonder if maybe he's just not fully comfortable w/ the new shooting motion and he has too much time to think about it at the line.

user-pic
MCT reply to Brian on Jan 28 at 19:39

Yeah I definitely think he is thinking about it too much. Hopefully he'll get his confidence up if he hits a few in a row

PHI 24, DET 14 after one.

Solid, solid quarter (excepting that 6-0 run). Three more like that.

only 1 TOV, 3 blocks, and 4 TOV forced

keep it up!

The amount of times Turner has back-rimmed free-thows this year is astonishing. Take something off it for Christ sakes.

user-pic

Long way to get there, but it's a must they keep this at a minimum double digits at the half, wearing on the Pistons psyche.

PHI 42, DET 31 at the half.

user-pic

Deservedly so on Lou.

Second best half of defensive basketball this season (TOR 2nd half was better).

81% DREB rate. Took care of the ball. Forced turnovers. Need better shooting, though. Thad + Lavoy + Jodie = 4/16. The rest of the team: 11/22.

Man, the Sixers should really be a better team from the line. They don't have any bigs who get there a lot and shoot in the 50's to drag their team % down.

Come on, not a shot clock violation. ugh

Something I've noticed, the Sixers never let someone isolate on a wing. The big always comes to the near-side block and cuts off that drive if the guy on the perimeter gets beat. Need to be good on rotations to do that, but it really intimidates those iso players.

Bad turnover by Jrue. Should've tried to finish. Wonder if he gets the hook.

He was the Sixers best player in the 1st half of he Heat game - including a pretty credible job on D on LBJ...by the time he got in the game in the 2nd half, the boulder was already rolling down the mountain. One of Collins' more visible fuck-ups recently.

The allegiances and attachments to Turner vs the Heat is borderline comical - playoffs last year, and one game this year. The Heat aren't the only team in the league.

They are the best team though, so you would see why people notice that he has had some of his best games of his career against them right?

That's fair, but I think (most) people were just upset with that one game since he was playing so well. Doug says he always wants to stay with the hot hand, and he didn't do it that night. He has done it to other players as well.

As for his overall playing time, he probably hasn't earned more than what he is getting.

A lot of the complaining might be about Turner getting meaningless 4th quarter minutes, but that's a good problem to have, and one that should change right about... Monday.

I think the idea of earning playing time is an interesting one when it comes to the Sixers. Even though Turner has probably not earned a ton of minutes with a bad three game stretch, he still has to play at least 25 minutes a game. There's a reason for this: The Sixers, at their peak this year, need Evan Turner to be hitting on most (if not all) cylinders to be the best team they can be this year and in the playoffs. It's that they are going to need critical rebounds in big games, and stops, and a guy who has the ability to get his own shot and create for others a little bit when Iguodala has a tough guard on him.

It's really for the same reason Collins kept playing Jodie early in the year when he couldn't throw the ball in the ocean. To be the best team they can be, they need Jodie Meeks to be playing well, even though people were calling for his head early in the year.

I can see why some people think that he gives Meeks a longer leash, and I don't necessarily disagree. I just have to think that he wants Evan Turner playing productive basketball for the team's sake. He'll let him play through his problems as long as he defends and rebounds, which he always will. Just wait till he's playing the 4th quarter when we are in close games down the stretch.

user-pic
bebopdeluxe reply to Rich on Jan 28 at 21:43
+/-

I hope you are right, bro. Perhaps Collins knows that he has the ability right now to give Meeks and Lou (who probably was getting pretty pissed himself sitting out the guts of games in favor of Turner in crunchtime of close games) heavier minutes in these games, because in close games against better teams, we are going to be seeing a lot of JTI...

At least, that is what I am hoping this is...

user-pic
bebopdeluxe reply to MCT on Jan 28 at 21:38
+/-

And Jodie Meeks has?

If this team has ANY shot of beating teams like he Bulls and Heat, this team simply cannot waste any available talent...and having Jodie Meeks play more than Evan Turner (as he had done many times this season - including the Heat game) is simply unacceptable.

All that I can think is Collins may be trying to motivate Turner to find his hidden "Villain" and bring it out consistently. The frustrating thing is, if Turner is going to get buried for virtually the entire 3rd quarter of the Heat game - after being the best player on the floor in the 1st half - if I am Turner, I am SEETHING.

At leat tonight, when he got his obligatory 2nd half minutes after the game was already a rout (a rout that he hadn't helped create), at least he decided to be as selfish with his shooting as everybody else is out on the floor. Good for him.

user-pic
South Broad reply to MCT on Jan 28 at 21:30
+/-

What does the Heat being the 'best team' have to do with Turner's individual performances against them? Context starts off as team, then delves into individual play. Are they that much relative?

I just don't think you should dismiss it when a young player steps up against a great team like that, repeatedly. I think it shows some potential. What is so hard to understand about that?

user-pic
South Broad reply to MCT on Jan 28 at 21:38
+/-

Where was it ever said it was not understood? The question was, what relevance in the big picture does that have?

So, by this logic, if a player steps up versus the best, he should be acclaimed, but not be looked at or judged upon when he doesn't repeat it versus the also-rans? Just gloss over that?

It's relevant because it means he has the potential to be a good player. He has played well against crappy teams too. He just isn't consistent yet.

user-pic
bebopdeluxe reply to South Broad on Jan 28 at 21:46
+/-

He is not repeating it against the also-rans because he's NOT ON THE FLOOR.

I think we are going to see a LOT of JTI in the guts of the game over the next couple of weeks...Collins probably knows this, which is perhaps why guys like Meeks and Lou have been getting the minutes that they have been getting lately.

user-pic
South Broad reply to MCT on Jan 28 at 21:40

He sat the entire 3rd quarter two games in the row though.

Yeah. Lou has gone more into the ball-hogging Lou and Collins now makes sure Turner is the last guy off the bench. These decisions were made when Turner was playing well. Despite popular belief of some, it was his reduced role that came first, not his drop in play. The reduced role caused the drop in production (as it would with anyone), not the other way around.

This has been building up for me for a few games...starting with the Miami game.

I wouldn't be surprised if Collins is doing this in part because he was getting concerned about Lou's state of mind sitting on the bench in crunchtime of close games in favor of JTI. He didn't want to lose Lou with so much of the season left to play. He saw an opportunity to get Lou - and Jodie - lots of minutes during this part of the schedule, before the road gets tougher and they will need JTI to be the closers.

user-pic
bebopdeluxe reply to eddies' heady's on Jan 28 at 22:55

Stop it, bro. I haven't said JACK about this until tonight. I was pissed after the Miami game - I thought that Collins flat-out blew it waiting so long to bring Turner back in the game. He also did the SAME FUCKING THING in the Denver game - watching either Lawson or Miller smoke either Lou or Meeks (depending on who was out there) for the entire 3rd quarter. Would the outcome of that game been any different if Turner would have taken Meeks' place earlier in that game? Huh?

To be fair, I think that Turner does his share of passive-aggressive shit when he doesn't play in the 2nd half until the team is up 20+ points...he just sits there on the wing, giving up the ball all the time and letting Lou jack up as many shots as he wants. At least tonight he finally said, fuck it, I'm just gonna get mine.

As I said earlier, I am hoping that there is a method to Collins' madness...that he realizes that we are going to see a lot of JTI when they start playing better teams, so better to get Lou and Meeks going now when the level of competition isn't as high and each of their weaknesses can't be quite as exploited. And - also to be fair - Lou has been a lot less selfish out there this season and Meeks has been more than just a one-trick pony at times. But, at the end of the day, in close games against high-quality teams, if the Sixers are going to have any chance to win, they will need Turner's defense, rebounding and ball-handling in the guts of the game, IMO. I just hope that Turner gets as much of a chance to play out of what people here are saying is a "tough stretch" as Meeks, Lou, Jrue or anybody else does.

+1 (see Brian, I can be short and sweet!)

I hope you're right bro, but I'm more cynical. I think it's just part of the long line of garbage Collins has thrown at Turner. Same thing he did to Theo Ratliff in Detroit until he got him traded.

You know, you keep spouting this crap. What, exactly, did Collins do to Theo Ratliff in Detroit? His rookie year, he played 17 minutes/game behind Otis Thorpe, who was extremely productive for a 46-36 team.

In his second season in Detroit, Collins made Ratliff the starter a little before the mid-point of the season. He started 38 games (played 23 min/game as a starter) for a 54-win team. Ratliff was a light-rebounding big who blocked shots and he not only worked his way into the rotation in first two seasons, but took the starting job before his sophomore season was over.

Did you follow the Pistons back then or is this just another thing you're pulling out of your ass and hoping no one will look up?

Here you go.

http://www.nba.com/pistons/news/theo_ratliff_080304.html

"Eager to prove himself worthy of a first-round pick, Ratliff had a strong first NBA training camp, averaging 8.9 points and 5.9 rebounds in the preseason. But his regular-season debut so displeased Collins that the Pistons coach benched him after five minutes and did not play him at all in the next game."

"He had a little (preseason) success and then disappeared,” Collins was quoted in the Oakland Press. “[…] In this business you’ve got to strap it on every night. And if Theo’s not doing it, I’m not going to play him as some experiment.”

Ratliff never dyed his hair but continued to draw the ire of Collins entering their second training camp together. “I don’t like it when he gets made at me, but it’s not like I try to make it happen,” Ratliff said. “Sometimes I just do things he doesn’t like.”

Two weeks later, Collins pulled Ratliff out of the rotation again, and his minutes continued to fluctuate into his third season. “I don’t know what I can say,” Ratliff was quoted on Jan. 19, 1997. “I just show up ready to play, ready to provide whatever it is he wants form me. That’s all I can do.”

"A year later, Ratliff would be a Philadelphia 76er."

Well played, sir.

Regardless of what happened with Ratliff, I don't think the same is true with Collins and Turner...but not playing Turner in the 3rd quarters of the Heat and Nuggets games (in spite of pretty clear evidence on the floor that either Turner was lighting it up or Meeks was getting raped defensively) were real head-scratchers for me.

Thank you sir. I agree.

Hadn't seen that before, but you left out some key points. Collins may have ridden him, but he did give him more minutes as he earned them. And he was traded to Philly because they made a trade for Brian Williams to play the five and needed help on the perimeter.

If that's the case, Dre's stock is at an all time low. Not that it matters.

Well his stock in a trade is certainly low. We saw that last year when he skipped his exit interview and Thorn looked around to trade him before the new owners put the kibosh on it.

How does the new owners putting the kibosh on a deal mean his trade value was low?

Not the owners. The rumors indicated his trade value was low. The rumors can be wrong of course, but that's all we have to go by. It's his contract really that hurts his trade value.

user-pic
eddies' heady's reply to spiller27 on Jan 28 at 23:20

OK, Stackhouse won't shit, and now Dre's stock is easily determined by you. Yet, this somehow went back to Theo's unruly treatment, as well as Turner's.

I'm not sure what you're saying. I never claimed Iggy's value was "easily determined" by me. I'm going off the rumors. I could be wrong but I think Iggy's contract makes it impossible to get near equal value for him in a trade.

Fair enough. Ratliff did get minutes some times, as they said his minutes "fluctuated." Same with Turner really, he gets 30+ minutes here and there. The Brian Williams thing is a fair point but I think from the quotes it's clear that Theo and Doug butted heads (and while who knows what went on behind closed doors, it looks like it was initiated by Collins). Ratliff actually played more minutes/game (24) the year Williams was there. I'm not saying Collins never played Ratliff, just like I'm not saying he never played Turner. I'm just saying he rides the guys, seems like a pretty good comparison in treatment.

Well, that's your perception of what's going on. He's never said anything even remotely negative about Turner to the press, has he? If anything, he's gone out of his way to say positive things about Turner. The ET, "I just want to play" line is really the only public thing we've seen.

I would agree, Collins' words about Turner have not been negative. But looking at that article, Collins is only quoted as saying anything negative about Ratliff once, after the first game of his career when he basically accused him of dogging it in 5 minutes in his NBA debut. I'm more comparing their inconsistent minutes.

user-pic
South Broad reply to spiller27 on Jan 28 at 23:23

Does DC's isolated mention and handling of Theo back in '97 have any remote bearing on his so-called treatment of Evan Turner? How do they really relate?

They relate because people here think I'm a conspiracy theorist Turner-homeboy when I say Collins doesn't give Turner the minutes he deserves. In my opinion, showing that Collins has treated other plays like crap in the past (e.g. saying Ratliff was dogging it and declaring him unfit to play after 5 minutes) provides support for my analysis not being so conspiracy-oriented and actually being pretty realistic.

Treatment of a center in '97 provides support for analysis of a position-less wing who is a jack of some trades, master of none? Alright, if you say so. Some evidence you've got there.

If this team is going to go deep in the playoffs...compete with the Bulls or Heat...what "trades" do you think are going to be more important: Meeks' occasional ability to get hot from outside, or Turner's rebounding, defense and ball-handling? When Game 5 with the Heat is tied with a minute to go in Miami, who would you rather have out there defensively: Meeks, Lou or Turner? Who would you rather have out there helpling with ball-handling? Meeks?

Look - I am fine if this is just a temporary lull in Turner's minutes, as long as he gets the same chance to re-earn a better, more meaningful role in the rotation in future games. I don't think that Turner is going to go into Collins' office and suck his dick like Meeks did...but if guys like Jrue, Lou and Meeks get to get their minutes back (and not just garbage 4th quarter minutes like Turner has been getting the last 3-4 games but QUALITY minutes) after hitting a rough stretch of play, then Turner better get the same fucking chance. That's all.

Nevertheless, I didn't understand why Collins didn't play ET for a single minute in the 3rd quarter.

The graveyard shift has been annoying. We had a chance to win by 30 points in the last 2 games and we blew it :(

I'm sure you'd be fine with Iggy being the last man off the bench and not seeing the floor at all in the third quarter as long as we won big.

Iguodala barely played at all in the fourth quarter and I didn't make a federal case out of it.

Turner had a good game against Miami, in the next three games he shot 8/24 from the floor and his minutes didn't dip until the third game of that stretch (which was a blowout anyway).

Over that same stretch, Meeks shot 8/17 from three, and actually contributed on the glass as well (17 boards in three games). Lou has also picked up his play.

Turner deserved an earlier run in the Miami game. Since then (prior to tonight) he's been pretty bad, the other two guys have been hotter, so Collins has shifted the minutes a bit. He did the same thing to Lou earlier in the year, why weren't you up in arms that Collins hated him at that point?

He's got three guys to fill one position and backup two others. Lou is averaging 24.9 min/game, Turner 26.2 min and Meeks 26.4 min. Each guy has played 30+ minutes when he was playing well, and each guy has had games w/ less than 20 minutes. It's just tiresome, you beat this drum every fucking night like Turner is being persecuted, but if any of the three have a legit complaint, it's Lou.

Cotgt

Iggy not playing in the 4th when the game is over (aka garbage time) is hardly the equivalent of Turner not playing in the 3rd.

The Turner vs. Meeks debate is silly. There's no debate. Turner averages more points, more assists, more rebounds, and plays better defense. I don't even need to bother.

As for Lou, his argument for more playing time would be valid if this weren't a two-way sport. His defense is a joke. It's not all about PPG.

As for this...

>

Look back at the game threads. I have not initiated mini-threads about Turner's minutes. I've responded to comments by others. If I'm not supposed to respond, then fine. It's your web site and I'm a guest and I enjoy reading the stuff here, I'll abide by whatever the rules are. I know you're not a big fan of the "Where is Turner" clogging up the game thread which is why I don't initiate such mini-threads (maybe I did very early in the season, don't remember but I have not recently since I know it's not popular to do so).

But you're saying what I'm posting is "tiresome" when all I'm doing is responding. By that definition, anyone who has responded in the alternative, by saying "Turner gets the minutes he deserves" is also tiresome. If you want to set a rule of "no comments about Turner's minutes," be my guest, it won't affect me, because I don't post them on my own initiative during game threads. I'm just responding to someone else.

How about this, next time you're going to bitch about Turner being persecuted, just say this:

"I'm ranting about how Evan Turner is not being treated fairly." And we'll all know exactly what you would've used way too many words to say...again.

Are you worried about Boston's "resurgence". They're next two games are against Cleveland while we have a tough schedule ahead. I think Boston may close the gap.

Few stats from tonight

Dalembert- 7 points, 14 rebounds, 2 blocks
JaVale- 22 points, 10 rebounds, 5 blocks

I'm not particularly worried about Boston right now. They're a veteran team with the ability to get up for big games, but they're also older than dirt. Don't think they have the depth to maintain play like this for extended periods of time in this compacted schedule. They're going to make the playoffs, but I don't think they're going to win the Atlantic.

Guess we should crawl before we walk. Let's hopefully win the division and we can put off the worry about our matchup until later.

My order of preference is:

1. Clevelans
2. Milwaukee
3. Indiana
4. Atlanta
5. New York (if they make it)
6. Boston
7. Chicago
8. Miami

I'm not sure if I want NJ to make the playoffs. It might convince Deron to stay and Howard to come. But they may miss out on a top 5 pick.

I put Boston and Orlando at a tie for #3

I'm a little worried since they are playing well even without Rondo and Ray.

Apparently Devin Harris is older that Iguodala. Weird. I always thought of Harris as a young guy with "potential"

@jrfingerCSN: word around the campfire is Jenna Jameson might be at the Sixers' game on Monday night.

Is it free penicillin night?

Sixers game story (with Iguodala video): Iguodala records triple-double in victory over the Pistons:

Interesting material about Iguodala wanting to make the All-Star team (and thinking he got snubbed in the past). I think he will be hard-pressed to make it unless he gets his scoring up to 15 PPG, but then again, Bobby Jones made it one year for the Sixers long ago playing the same type of game ...

Is Spoelstra the coach? Yeah, I kind of doubt it as well. If you're looking at forwards in the East, you have to assume LeBron and I guess Melo. Then you've got Bosh and guys who have gone to the A.S. game in the past and probably get there on rep alone like Pierce, Garnett, Amare maybe Granger.

Then you've got Deng, if he comes back from injury strong. He'll get consideration.

If you look at it as just wings, Wade starts, then you've got guys like Joe Johnson and Ray Allen.

Actually, you know what, if the Sixers are still at the top of the Atlantic, he really does deserve it.

LeBron, Wade, Bosh are all ahead of him at both positions, beyond them can you really say any wings/forwards are more deserving than Iguodala so far this season? Maybe Deng, actually. Melo will get in, obviously, and Pierce has been pretty good, but Iguodala has to at least get consideration.

If scoring is going to be what keeps him out, look at the PPG for the other guys. Deng is at 15.9, Pierce is at 17, Garnett is at 12.4. Granger, 16.8.

If it's scoring-based, Bargnani and Joe Johnson are probably the two biggest impediments to Iguodala getting in.
