, all the time

i'll admit my anger has gotten the best of me at times this season, but this post mirrors my feelings exactly.

love the rocky II quote too!!

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 12:14

Alright, screw it(!), that post (along with Dollar Bill's previous post smelling-salt) brought me around. I needed something because I've never ever felt this drab on the day before, or day of, the friggin' PLAYOFFS!!

Side note: even though you were reluctant to say the unsaid, still hope you share those 30,000 words swimming around in that noggin

Let's get it!@!!!! Go 76ers!!!

Hear hear (Though I agree with Eddies).

Jrue, Evan, and Lou need to come up big.

Agree totally, can't help but root for the team now that the playoffs are here.

Let's do this!

Before this one starts, posted this a couple threads down but it is awesome, Jrue trying to sell his own jersey and nobody recognizing him:

Yeah, hilarious.

South Broad on Apr 28 at 12:57

Thought 3 tickets had lucked upon me for this one. TNT it is. Should be a good one.

This Law and Order is thrilling and all, but kinda wish there was a pregame on TNT right now.

MCT reply to Brian on Apr 28 at 13:07

They had pregame on NBA TV

ahhh gametime, let's do this!

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:02

Hope Lavoy doesn't have the jitters. No early turnovers. Jrue needs to look to create for others early if he's not stroking his J. Set your feet and don't rush it Jodie. EB, silky smooth J, get enough arc on it. Andre, hit the glass, HARD!

Let's go!

Bulls allowed the fewest opponent PPG in eight years this season...wonder how much of that was schedule fatigue though..

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:06

Where are D Rose's injuries located?

I think the latest was in the leg, right? It was his back at one point, too.

I'm kinda optimistic, which normally leads to bigger disappointment.

whos calling the game for tnt? im watching the local feed

Dunno. They just had the studio doofus crew so far.

MCT reply to Brian on Apr 28 at 13:10

Already overhyping the Turner comments, as if that will decide the series one way or another. Looks like they gave Shag some horse tranquilizers again.

amn, Shaq is AWFUL on TV...the rest of them are so sick of it at this point. Chuck gave Jrue some love, otherwise NO RESPECT

Wonder if any of the Bulls try to go after Jrue's nose early?

ALLLLLLLLLLRIGHT!!!! We're off...Lavoy loses the tip.

jrue 3!

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:11

Jrue 4 3!

Rose bricked three on the first possession.Good start.

JRUE43!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On the other end, baby!

Take a step in from there, Lavoy.

Foul on AI9.

Lavoy on Boozer, Brand on Noah.

Meeks, gotta grab that fucking floor board.

That early foul on Dre scares me

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:13

ugh, that's twice Dre seemed a step slow so far on Deng, first time he committed a lazy foul

grrr seeing an awful lot of long jumpers so far..

Settle down, too harried on the offensive end.

this is already starting to piss me off.

10-0 run. Gotta settle down.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:16

OK, the nerves should be out the way by now...

Meeks out, Turner in.

Awful start on both ends for that noted playoff performer wearing #9 for our boys...

dammit guys can we get Thad in there yet?

Great find by AI9 there. Jrue...ugh.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:18

Good job Jrue backing off Rose, make him shoot those 20 ft'ers

Come on, Meeks.

nice move jrue

Nice take Jrue

I think there might be something wrong w/ Iguodala's achilles. He isn't changing direction like he usually does.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:19

Jrue bobbing and weaving his way to a lefty layup.

YES nice attack Jrue...just do that like 30 more times this game...

Lavoy on glass at both ends...nice to see Dre go to the f-ing hoop. Argh Meeks missed j

JRUE beautiful drive!!

eb foul line jumper

There we go. That shot is there all the time for EB.

EB again, nice

ugh who left Rip open??

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:21

Might want to at least "attempt' to close out a little faster/harder there Jodie on that Rip 3

How does he get that wide open for a corner three?

Get Jodie the fuck out now please

you se jrue get in front of rose after the miss? awesome.

You can't throw those weak fucking passes in the open floor.

Atta boy, Jrue.

Rip getting hot, brand too

jesus, rip...

Great find, Jrue.

Get Jodie out ...

Get Meeks out of the fucking game.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:22

Rip w/ 9 way too early pts so far, not good at all.

ugh, going to the line for two more, shit

Lou for Meeks reallly?? not Thad?

How bad was Jodie's stint?

great pass from jrue to allen...turner is coming in here right??

good job by eb to cut when dre got stuck in the air

Lou in for Jodie. Great job by AI9 setting up Brand.

woah EB way to remind Bulls fans that yes you do still exist!

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:24

EB rolled to the hoop? and for a dunk? OK....

ugh and you get dunked on by Noah really?

Nice fight, Lavoy.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:25

Damn EB just got fouled! Lou gets a call though. sheesh

Jrue to the line.

thad an

Nice early run by Lavoy...how about some Battie now?

Two o-boards on that possession, ends in a fucking dunk. PUT A BODY ON THEM!

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:27

Dammit Thad, keep your body on Gibson man!!!

...why was Scottie Pippen standing right behind Collins?

So many defensive breakdowns.

ugh. Perhaps evan turner would help on the defensive glass?

That play went to shit when Rose wound up with Lou on him. Basically looked like a matador, letting Rose get right to the rim.

Blown bunny. Can't have that.

Good work, Thad.

good leak out pass to thad

The Bulls are really attacking the mismatches. Ronnie Brewer just backed Lou down.

spencer hawes, instant flail

Ha Turner gets booed, if only he would unleash his inner villain and take over this game...

he would get pulled anyway

Good work, Thad. How Gibson didn't know he was going back left is beyond me.

Thad draws the charge. Great job.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:33

Now if only Thad would get in position to box out like he does to take charges, we'd be ok.

how the hell does Lou make that shot???

lou fadeaway, not a fan

only down 4, rose 1-7

nice shot, Rose...you ain't no Lue, son.

PHI 24, CHI 28 after one.

Early jitters survived. Bench pulled them back into it. Start the second quarter strong.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:35

Rip with 11 of their 28 points? usually I'd say i'd take it, but not this time, think those early ones from him will be a difference maker in this game down the stretch, that is if the Sixers even keep it close.

Can't have Jodie on him. They're going to need to put Turner in the starting lineup if Chicago's going to just attack Meeks.

Down 4. That's ok.

That's Jrue's 8th shot, and I think he needs to stay aggressive.

Yes ET!!!

Hawes almost blew that rebound, good hustle by Turner.

Turner with the floorboard and pull up j... so nice that he hit that first shot

Nice steal, Lou.

Jump to pass, Lou. Don't do it.

ugh can't turn the ball over guys...

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:41

ugh Jrue, clean that mess up .... NOW!

Fucking Hawes. You are so god damned useless.

Three straight turnovers.

two bad decisions in a row from jrue.

hawes misses a layup

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:42

Motherfuck you Spence. Such wussiness man.....damn

ugh and Hawes blows the look from right undernearth, fuck us

newsflash: hawes is a huge fuckin wuss

Nice work, Spence.

yeah, not gonna keep it close this way.

Get that fucking pussy out of the game, Doug.

lou to the line

Hit the freebies, Lou.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:46

Good outlet pass there from Thad to Lou. Got Lou to the line. GOod job.

Have to take the easy points when the Bulls give them to you. They're so hard to come by.

Thad, don't settle when you have Brewer on you.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:47

EB should have shot that instead of giving it to Thad.

Jesus Christ, Turner. Attack Korver.

woohoo EB and then to AI9

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:48

Good takeaway and give-up Evan! Let's go!

Rose back in. Can't have Lou on him.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:50

Looks like the Bulls are gonna easily score over 100. Can't see us even getting there.

lou on rose

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 13:51

what the hell was that Dre? so out of control

OK, let's go. JTI, Brand and Allen. Want to see this group run together.

Looks like an entirely different team with Lavoy out there instead of 00

Dodged a bullet there w/ the Korver transition three. Two o-boards on that possession as well. Fuck me.

Have to make that wide open shot, Turner

He rushed it. W/ Korver running out at him, probably should've pump faked or just driven by him for an easier look.

MCT reply to Brian on Apr 28 at 13:59

Yeah I'm not encouraged by his settling for jump shots.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 14:01

Bullshit call on Dre there!

Not much of a look out of the timeout.

That was a bullshit call on Iguodala. Fuck that noise.

bad call

Nice move, Thad.

They need to double on Rose

Has Turner been on Rose for all three of these makes, or did they just switch that?

MCT reply to Brian on Apr 28 at 14:03

All three

eddies' heady's reply to Brian on Apr 28 at 14:03

he was on him

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 14:03

Dammit Thad, EB was telling you to get up the floor and help on that Rose J. ugh

so how long until we can just put V8 in there to foul Noah on every possession?

Think Jrue tipped that one in for Chicago. Falling apart.

well this has been awful

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 14:05

Thad should have given up that ball earlier on that break, he could have gotten it back. Still, Lou to the line though.

4 missed bunnies for 8 points...

PHI 42, CHI 53 at the half.

Bad second quarter. Have to find a way to stop these Chicago runs, and have to cash in on the easy looks. Meeks never got back into the game, wonder if he starts the third.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 14:07

Tried to have some excitement earlier, but about what I expected. We struggle sooo hard just to get a look in a halfcourt set. And sadly, that look usually ends up being a perimeter J.

Collins made 11 substitutions in that half, not including the quarter end. He hasn't had a half like that all year. My rotation chart is already filled up.

He's scrambling trying to find something, anything, that will worked, but the sixers are just out matched, especially if Richard Hamilton is showing up for the whole series

Extremely fast pace in the first half. 98 possessions/48 minute pace. Possibly Collins is pushing the pace and making a ton of subs, trying to wear Chicago down?

There's the optimistic view

If Chicago had less depth than the sixers that would make total sense :)

eddies' heady's reply to Brian on Apr 28 at 14:13

He told Cheryl Miller at the quarter break that he thought his guys young legs could be to their benefit.

Hmm...interesting since two of his best players can't be said to have 'young legs'

Looking at the advanced stats, it's basically just Chicago shooting too well, the Sixers not. The other numbers are pretty much in line, DREB is a bit low (73%), but not crazy. Turnover rate is fine, though it was much worse in the second quarter.

No reason ET should be covering Rose unless it is on a switch. And wanted to call out Iggy for a weak half and Jrue for poor play inside 8 feet with misses and TOs. Credit to brand. And Hawes killed them.

Court_visioN reply to tk76 on Apr 28 at 14:19

2 of Iguodala's misses were on last second shot-clock-expiring heaves so it is a little skewed. But I agree the backcourt needs to step up for the Sixers to have any chance this game.

Keep feeding Brand!

...isn't this series what you have been saving old man Battie for?

Sixers assistant coach at half: "if we make layups and dont get hurt by that charge call which should've been a 3 point play, this game is basically tied."

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 14:25

He'd be better off giving Battie those six minutes he gave Hawes.

Agreed. Really nice play to start the third, but Brannd misses it.

Turner for Meeks to start the third.

turner for meeks

ET. Makes it, but get into the paint, kid.

Shitty touch foul there.

Flopping cunt.

MCT reply to Brian on Apr 28 at 14:29

Can't believe the refs didn't fall for it

nice flop

jrue is stone cold. big play iggy, damnit, TO by thibs.

Court_visioN on Apr 28 at 14:28

Iguodala gets a gift from a Rip flop

Da Jruth on Apr 28 at 14:32

Still in this. Iguodala needs to get a nasty streak in him.

et to jrue

Great feed by Turner to Jrue.

woah nice find ET to get Jrue!

It would be nice if we had a guy who could hit a 3 every now and then.

Didn't like the AI9 three. Good D by Brand on the other end.

MikeW reply to Brian on Apr 28 at 14:33

hit shot looks more timid than it has the last 2 weeks

Court_visioN on Apr 28 at 14:33

Iguodala picked off with a moving screen on that Rip jumper.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 14:33

Don't need that shot that early from you Dre. ugh

Stay on the floor you fucking bitch.

Court_visioN on Apr 28 at 14:33

Love that staredown from Iguodala on Rip on the floor.

Court_visioN on Apr 28 at 14:34

how did holiday foul rose there??

foul was on lavoy not jrue

Another bad jumper by AI9. Don't know why he's forcing those.

Fucking Rose three.

Iggy's been ass today

eddies' heady's reply to Stuff on Apr 28 at 14:37

agree, continuing his usual playoff showings

and just like that - lead goes from 5 to 12.

Court_visioN on Apr 28 at 14:36

Dre, don't need to get yourself going by taking jumpers.

Rose 3. Fuck me.

what was jrue thinking leaving rose for a wide open 3??

Really bad decision by Jrue. I've remember at least 5 over helps.

Nothing pisses me off more than overhelping. Except maybe offensive rebounding, but they often go hand in hand.

there is a major issue with this team in that its best player is allergic to 4th quarters and playoff games...

good things when evan turner has had the ball in his hands. holliday has played best off the ball

Turner to the line. Hopefully to stop the bleeding.

Court_visioN on Apr 28 at 14:40

why is Iguodala chasing Rip around? Not his strength on defense.

Because Deng isn't doing anything and Rip was killing them.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 14:40

Turner got picked off by a back pick from Boozer, Thad has to be aware there that Deng was behind him right at the rim, ugh

Good move, no finish.

Rich reply to Brian on Apr 28 at 14:42

God damnit. Grab the fucking boards.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 14:43

Come on Jrue, don't just look at him fire it up.... sheesh

I mean we're so fucked if he's hitting threes. Just get mad when he hits them because the initial shot was so awful

Think Jrue fouled Rose on that three, but at least he contested it.

ugh now rose is hitting 3s

eb the mvp...not a surprise...consistenly been the mvp in pivotal moments this yr(to the extent that anyone has been). turner has easily been the second best offensive player, and the best distributor by some distance

a positive is that spencer hawes seemingly has one foot out the door already

Here comes the blowout

No comment by any announcer how Noah was in the lane for 5 seconds before that foul by thad.

Jrue is so much better when he plays methodically.

his decision making does leave something to be desired when the pace quickens. i think the game today has been an excellent argument for et at the 1, jrue at the 2

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 14:46

Uh oh, ET and Rose bickering?

ET and Boozer, I guess.

NBA is so EASILY the most inconsistently officiated sport. So frustrating.

Court_visioN on Apr 28 at 14:47

Boozer being a little b*tch.

and Jrue misses the T. fuckin pathetic.

Two techs on the Bulls? And Jrue misses the fucking tech. One was called on the Sixers bench, too. Or Brand, I guess. Who knows?

Fucking free throws. Sack up and knock them down.

Get some contact Thad. Sheesh.

absolute JOKE of a call on ET there. FUcking horseshit call

Atta boy, Turner. Don't settle for that slop, attack! +1

Nice ET

ET and 1

Nice showing from ET thus far.

iggy made that look easy...

Man, Noah is killing Thad on the boards. Thats a killer foul.

Court_visioN on Apr 28 at 14:54

How the Bulls continuously draw foul calls simply by yelling is beyond me.

Come on Dre, make 2.

Court_visioN on Apr 28 at 14:55

split a pair, Dre?

Lou was fouled by Korver there.

don't worry everybody, Spencer hawes is in now

Court_visioN on Apr 28 at 14:57

what was that, Lou??

Jrue abandoning Rose resulted in that three. What the fuck was he doing?

eddies' heady's reply to Brian on Apr 28 at 14:59

have no idea, was saying and seeing the same thing

hawes misses another layup

Court_visioN on Apr 28 at 14:57

fuck hawes and his pussy shit.

Hawes, you rock.

lou got fouled, what a fucking no call. hawes missing a layup. now bulsl about to put this out of reach again

Another over help. Christ.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 14:58

Spencer, Mitt's calling you, just go campaing already...............

Hope these are the lastbfewngames of the hawes era

Lou with the no call, Korver 3, and Spencer blowing, Lou foul on Rip...thatw as a killer sequence for us

ET to the bench after a real nice performance...hawes in, his utes have been mercifully few. dc has done a nice job with his personnel

second feed for an easy dunk hawes has managed not to convert

iggy has passed well. he just is unfit to be the best player on a contending team, it isn't his fault, but it isnt even close

Go back to the bench Lou and Hawes.

That wasn't a fucking foul.

Now that is a bad call. Hawes and Thad looked straight up.

All this series will do is reaffirm how tired I am of watching a team in purgatory. Either suck or give me a glimmer of hope, but this middling stuff sucks.

eddies' heady's reply to CB on Apr 28 at 15:13

+ 2,379

PHI 66, CHI 79 after three.

Lost the third by 2 points. Terrible end to the quarter. If they're going to get back into it, need to do it right now when Rose goes to the bench.

So many bad defensive decisions thus far...

I like that turner is not intimidated. This will be a competitive series and hopefully his coming out party.

This will be very unpopular here but we were down 15 when Holiday got removed. We immediately went on a run, cut it to 8. Then Holiday came back in, Turner went out, and we're now down 13.

Rich reply to spiller27 on Apr 28 at 15:10

It's not unpopular, it's true. What would be unpopular is drawing too many conclusions from one game.

I won't draw conclusions to the next game, but I will to this game. Holiday should have been benched for the remainder of the game. There was no reason to bring him back after we go on a 7-0 run with him on the bench. He's terrible today.

Is Jrue just a stupid person? I know that sounds harsh and I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt but how can he continuously leave rose on defense?

Did Lou just really foul Ronnie Brewer shooting a 17-footer?

Before the shot.

Jesus, every loose ball is going their way. We need to do something about that.

Brand is off now. As off as he was on in the first half.

Hawes looks like some random fan who won a contest to play 5 minutes with the sixers...he is sooooo bad.

Bulls might be shooting 80 percent on curl screens. That won't continue in the series. Gotta say though, really poor defense thus far.

Not very competitive right now

Asik wasn't touched on that shot.

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 15:11

Evan Turner looks silly always woofing at the refs. Shut your mouth kid.

Court_visioN reply to eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 15:13

I mean, somebody's got to do it. The entire Bulls roster is barking at the refs.

I don't care what he looks like if he's playing well (He is).

i think there is actually a strong likelihood that every single player on this team plays better the next game than they did today. this was just god awful.

Not that it matters but we don't get any calls

Court_visioN on Apr 28 at 15:14

ah shit. dre at the line in the 4th quarter.

Keep attacking. Not much else you can do.

well if this team had 1998 EBrand they might stand a chance in this series

Turner stepped up today....not many guys on this team have guts. ET does.

MCT reply to The Six on Apr 28 at 15:16

And EB

eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 15:17

Kyle freaking Korver, thanks Ed Stefanski.

eddies' heady's reply to eddies' heady's on Apr 28 at 15:24

and to make room for Thad Young to get minutes. Brilliant Ed, just brilliant.

Thad Young is a better player than Korver.

eddies' heady's reply to Rich on Apr 28 at 15:46

yeah, fit never mattered, or shooters

They started playing better that year when Thad got in the lineup. I really don't know what you are arguing. This team, four years later, could use Korver, but he wouldn't have them anywhere threatening a title. That move was a move for the future, to see what Thaf could do.

Aside from the fact that they are different players who play different positions I grew with your entire premise.

Korver was traded so the sixers could create some cap space, that ended in them obtaining Elton Brand

eddies' heady's reply to Rich on Apr 28 at 16:33

Actually, I wasn't "arguing" anything relating to Korver vs Young. Just more bitching about Stefanski trading away what has been a much needed shooter for four straight years and continuing. My argument would probably be he didn't have to trade away our only damn good shooter to 'get' Thad minutes. Stefanski thought he was a three at that time and it has proven itself out that that isn't the case. My beef is Thad could have gotten his minutes at the expense of someone else, not jettisoning Korver.

If you assumed what I think you did from my rant, I was never arguing Korver was better than Thad or vice versa. It seems like it's been a forever recent theme that this teams needs a shooter and banger inside, neither of which they ever try to obtain. Well, at least obtain ones that are worthy.

As gosixers said, that move was about clearing cap space for Brand.

eddies' heady's reply to matt on Apr 28 at 20:58

No, gosixers was right in saying "it ended" in them getting Brand. Korver was traded in December right after Stefanski was hired, at that point he nor anyone else had any idea the team would even have a shot at Brand the following summer. So the move was not, and couldn't have been made to get Brand. They wooed Josh Smith first anyway in free agency that year.

The team needs better players who can also shoot the ball, period. As far as Korver goes, his postion as far as 2-3 hasn't been proven. His position in the roatation (9th man, shooting specialist) has been proven, a spot he's very valuable in on a good team. Everyone knew that when he was on the Sixers, though.

They swung and pretty much missed with EB, but I can't fault Stefanski for doing the Korver move at the time. An overwhelming majority of people felt that was a good move. He freed up time for his 1st Round Pick and got what was labeled as a top free agent.

eddies' heady's reply to Rich on Apr 28 at 20:55

I meant Stefanski thought Thad was a three and time has proven that to be wrong.

Korver is one of the worst players in the NBA.

No - he really isn't - Eddy's statement was an over statement of foolishness, and so is this one

eddies' heady's reply to spiller27 on Apr 28 at 15:41

I hate to see you admit that because I'd hate to see where that puts Evan Turner. The numbers back it up.

Court_visioN on Apr 28 at 15:18

Lou, you HAVE to close better than that. there were 2 fucking seconds on the shot clock.

ugh no way to defend against that...but Rose is so small and doesn't he have some sort of injury? Cant you at least try to get some contact on him?

Not our day

Sissy blocked shot.

Lazy, Lou. Lazy.

Ah, Lou could have done more today.

Pretty much everyone could've done more today.

I'm not going to get too crazy if we lose badly during this series. I just want to see guys compete. Hawes and Lou will be gone next year...but I want ET to get a ton of minutes.

Yeah I consider this is a successful season if Turner plays well, preventing Doug from getting him traded, and Lou and Jodie play terribly, increasing the odds they are gone next year.

They're showing this over the game? What the fuck?

What are they showing? (I"m still at work)

rose is hurt!!!!!

wow...Rose down

Good work having Rose in this game at this point. That's fucking brilliant.

woah Rose is down, holding his left knee

Don't cheer about this dude.

it was a dramatic moment is all. i like rose

Really stupid move chicago...really stupid. I hate seeing rose go down.

Oh mna

Holy shit, that didn't look good.

well this could certainly change the series, dude looks like he is majorly hurting but he is up and putting weight on it...

The bulls are pretty good without rose, good enough to beat the sixers in 7 games

MCT reply to GoSixers on Apr 28 at 15:37

Definitely, if I wasn't a Sixers fan I would still put money on the Bulls.

If i was a betting man, i'd bet on the bulls - betting should never be done emotionally ;)

MCT reply to GoSixers on Apr 28 at 15:41

Well I'm not betting on the Sixers either

Walking off is a decent sign

Hmmn. Thought for a second he was walking OK, can't seem to bend it, though.

That might be one of the CLs.

Replay was UGLY.

yknow 12 points in 1:10 is not *impossible* to come back from...

On this team - with no big men - against a good defense - it's as close to impossible as you can get with still being possible

it looked like nobody hit his knee, so it looked a non contact knee injury which is normally bad

PHI 91, CHI 103 Final.

I hope Derrick Rose only needs a couple of weeks' rest.

ha well the injury did happen when Rose was trying to blow past Hawes in about three different directions at the same time...thanks 00!

back to the draft

Thibs was trying to get Rose a triple double. Had to be the reason

Well - that's a pretty stupid reason - period - leaving a guy in a game when it's decided who only plays one gear and has demonstrated himself to be injury prone is an entirely stupid coaching decision - a triple double is a selfish individual achievement and this is the playoffs.

If that's really the reason, I hope Thibodeau has lost Rose for the entirety of the playoffs, maybe teach him a lesson about what is important

yep that's what i just said to my friend. pride goeth before the fall

Or possibly it was just trying to get rose back into game playing / serious minutes condition when they play teams with a chance of beating them, since he sat so god damn long.

If it's the triple double thing - thibodeau is a jack ass

Hate to say this as a sixer fan but it's almost more enjoyable to watch the Knicks heat game, just to root against the heat....but this means I'm rooting for the Knicks....I feel dirty

In games like this i find it comforting to root for a giant sinkhole to form

Lol at the miami refs. That is exactly why the fuck i didnt want to play them 1st round.

sounds like Rose is going to be out for the rest of the series at least

To blame Thib for playing Rose is kinda stupid. Look at the play. There is no contact at all. Rose is fragile and had bad luck. Could have happened anytime.

It's not like this game was hard-fought or had hard fouls.

Shit just happens, live with it...

The Six reply to Phil on Apr 28 at 17:10

The game was over and he is already coming off and injury. He should absolutely be out of the game by that point.

Phil reply to The Six on Apr 28 at 17:14

Look, it may have saved him this time. He could have suffered the injury in the next game. Or the game before. You're always smarter afterwards.

I don't get why people always need someone to blame when something bad happens.

The Six reply to Phil on Apr 28 at 17:22

Honestly dude...we're gonna agree to disagree, but the fact is he got injured this game. And it happened when the game result was achieved by CHI. The man was not even 100% coming into this game. Coach should have pulled him. If what you say happens, and he gets injured later on in this series or the next, fighting to get the bulls a win while the game in question is still competitive...so be it. But this was a big mistake by chicago.

I agree.

Phil reply to The Six on Apr 29 at 3:04

Look, I have no further points to strengthen my argument. But if you guys want to blame Thib, why not blame Rose, too? What was he thinking still attacking the lane when the games was over? He knew he should avoid contact because he's not 100%.

Holy shit

im also skeptical why a miami based outlet would have it before chicago

pretty sure that's fake

bad day for knee injuries, shumpert hurt his knee on a similar way that rose did

looked different though. shumperts knee just totally gave out & i'd be shocked if his season isn't over. rose's injury didn't look as bad imo.

On the one hand it's a rumor and it's always more captivation from a tabloid perspective to entertain the worst possible outcome. On the other hand, even without being so severe, that has yet to be written off as 'merely' series ending or nothing at all is just as concerning.

I wouldn't say fake I'd say unconfirmed. B/C Cooney, who is in Chicago I believe, is saying reports are coming out that the ACL is torn.

Nick reply to MikeW on Apr 28 at 17:38

yeah i guess you cant say fake, but we'll just have to wait and see

it's been established that everyone who covers the Sixers is a mental midget

...and by the way, LeBron was still in and shooting 3s with a 30 point lead over the Knicks after 3 quarters...is that only dumb if he gets hurt?

Uh oh.

In audio picked up by a TNT courtside camera Rose told his trainers that he "felt something pop.

bull sent out press release saying rose tore his acl

So now if the sixers somehow win the first round, will that delude the ownership into keeping the roster together?

Mike reply to GoSixers on Apr 28 at 18:42

i think the Bulls are probably still better than us without Rose though. instead of a sweep or loss in 5 this probably just extends the series a game or 2.

Damn memory (and messing with Microsoft Dynamics all day, damn stupid broken pain in my arse). I thought the game the sixers beat the bulls in was sans rose, but turns out it was sans deng and hamilton

Rich reply to GoSixers on Apr 28 at 20:02

Could go the way most want it if we lose, though.

Derek Rose is "Mr Chicago" - Lebron James was really 'hurt' by Tyson Chandler

Things Magic Johnson believes :)

Kinda knew right away his ACL was torn, was obvious from the drawer sign the doctor tested. I liked how Turner was playing, hopefully we'll see him grow like he did in the Miami series last year.

Well, the news on Rose is sad-I really liked his game and its Iversonian nature-but unfortunately, this is the flip side of that...damn shame that at such a young age he's suffered an injury that will make it very difficult for him to ever recapture the most special part of his game

As an NBA, it also takes a lot of the luster off of the Eastern Conf playoffs. No Howard, No Rose.

Sixers will still lose the series, I think, although now an upset is legitimately possible. Not the way you want it, though. Now it will be a pretty poor showing if thwey cant win two games at minimum

but if ever there's a year to burn out your old guys trying to win this series...and then hope the Knicks (and i guess Celtics if they make it out of round one) thug it up on Miami...

this might work in our favor. it will be even more embarrassing now if they lose in 5 or 6 and hopefully lead Thorn to actually do something this off-season.

Is there any any way we could somehow get hibbert?

It's more likely the sixers could get greg monroe

And there's really no chance to get Greg Monroe

Didn't watch, not sure how the pacers lost - but i'm guessing 'not going to hibbert' is part of the issue

I think the Bulls are still far and away the better team, but I guess it depends on how they gather themselves mentally. Sorry to see Rose go down. He is part of the entertainment this series (vs Jrue.) And now losses will a bit more disappointing. Although it would be exciting to see them reach the second round or more.

I would have rather seen Noah get injured. I think the Sixers should start Tony Battie. I still think the Sixers will lose the series. CJ Watson is a good player and will abuse them on the pick and roll.

I think this is great; if we win, ownership will discount the win because we did it without Rose, and if we lose, it'll look really bad.

Stan reply to Tray on Apr 28 at 23:24

I wonder what Chicago is thinking. They have so much money invested in this team and their star player may never be as explosive as he once was.

Tray reply to Stan on Apr 28 at 23:59

Could potentially lead to a two or threepeat for LeBron.

Did I miss him getting the first one?
