"A few things for Sox fans to chew on: Josh Beckett, Hideki Okajima and Jonathan Papelbon. The ace of the Sox staff, their number one set-up guy and their closer combined for 8.2 innings, 11 hits, 6 earned runs, 1 blown save and 1 loss."

And here's something for Yankee fans to chew: that was one game. And much like you guys like to claim it can't be a rivalry if one team always wins, it's hardly much of a "dogfight" until it's at least no longer a double-digit division lead. Maybe the Yankees can try winning a series against a team other than the Red Sox. Then we'll talk.

It was a crappy loss tonight, though, for sure. Long flight to Oakland for the Sox.

Also, maybe I'm crazy, but where was the blown save? You can't blow a save in the eighth, and when Pap came in, it was a tie game. Doesn't that give him the loss, and not a blown save?

And, I'm going to throw a fastball 90+ at your arm and see how you do.

It is a blown save for Okajima in the eighth. You can check the box score.

I've been hit by plenty of 90MPH fastballs, none brought me to tears. I've also fouled balls off my foot before, none made me collapse to the ground and writhe in pain, then bounce back up and show no ill effects 5 seconds later. He's a drama queen.

Watch the replay of the throw that hit off his knee, he looks like he's going to cry as the ball skips down the right field line.

I'll make sure no Yankee ever reacts badly to a ball hitting him, lest he be regarded as less of a man in the eyes of the public. Stoicism wins the day, I suppose.

I had no idea you could blow a save in the eighth. Weird.

I hate when Yanks overreact too. Baseball has always been about stoicism, when you get hit, everyone on the bench yells, "Don't rub it." Don't let him know he hurt you.

Youkilis looked like a soccer player begging for a yellow card tonight, it was a disgrace.

Maybe Youk has brittle bones. Osteoporosis is a very real problem these days.

I'm sure I'm wrong, but I've never really seen him react that way until tonight. He's normally a gamer, at least the way I remember it.
