u seem to be leting joey jr off the hook tonight.. this was another disaster on his part.. leftys this year are batting .109 or so ve perez and righties 2.78.. bobby abreu was 0-9 with 5 ks vs perez easy decision right start shelly and give bob a day off or pinch hit later right? wrong what does joey G do move bobby up in the lineup to the 2 hole !!!! what is he thinking?? at least it didnt hurt right? wrong again! good ab by damon to move molina over to third w one out for bobby when the game was 4-2 and he doent drive in the much needed run but Ks again and jeter ends the inning with a would be sac fly. next inning lead off homer .. GAME OVER were not coming back from that .. not this team

Tom, I see your point with Shelley, but what has he shown this year that would've indicated that he would've been a better choice? Just by being a righty? Shelley has popped up and grounded out way too many times this year already to think that he would've been able to make a difference. Besides, Bobby has one of the best eyes in the game and Perez can be shaky with his control. Plus it's becoming very obvious that Shelley isn't going to contribute that much as a bench player. He needs to be playing all the time to put good wood on the ball.

Brian, you notice Cano has been breaking a lot of bats recently too? I'd say more than Damon right now.

Yeah, I mentioned Cano's kindling a couple of games ago. With him, I think he's making a point of trying to go to left now to break out of his slump. Pitchers are busting him in, though. He needs to just relax and hit the ball where it's pitched. Spray line drives all over the field. He'll come around.

Love the broken bat counter... do you really watch EVERY Damon at bat this season to keep those stats?! That has to be painful... NO MORE GIAMBI/DAMON at bats or my eyes will start bleeding!

I think I've missed 1 Damon at bat so far this year (TiVo problems), but I double checked to make sure he didn't break a bat. Otherwise, yeah, I've suffered through every one.
