Click for full story. In baseball, inning limits have become all the rage. Teams are treating young pitchers like they're made of glass, the underlying theory being too many innings too early in a career leads to a higher likelihood of serious injury. Today, we aren't going to debate the trend in baseball, that's a long discussion for another blog, instead, we'll try to relate the logic to basketball.

Click for full story. To many Sixers fans, Allen Iverson was a legit superstar. A guy completely worthy of the max deal the Sixers signed him to. Meanwhile, those same fans argue that Andre Iguodala is a second-banana at best. A guy who is overpaid, impossible to trade, and clogging the way for Thaddeus Young. Let's take a closer look at this logic after the jump.

Click for full story. When the whirlwind of the NBA draft finally settles down and Jrue Holiday has a chance to take a breath and start thinking about how he's going to earn minutes in his rookie season, he really needs to sit down with Andre Iguodala. Actually, I'll take it a step further, he needs to become Iguodala's shadow. In the gym, in the weight room, in film study. You name it, they need to be attached at the hip because these guys have a whole lot in common.

Click for full story. After speaking with Coach Jordan yesterday morning, and listening to him interviewed alongside Ed Stefanski on the WIP in the afternoon, one thing became abundantly clear to me. As of June 4th, the plan for this team is to start Andre Iguodala at the three, Thad Young at the four and Elton Brand at the five. After the jump, we'll examine what this means in terms of mismatches.

Click for full story. It's time to take a look back on the 2008-2009 season, and assess how each player performed. More importantly, though, I want to pay close attention to how the pieces on this young team progressed. It's Andre Iguodala's turn today. Stats, trends, highlights and lowlights after the jump.

Click for full story. When Ed Stefanski sits down with Eddie Jordan today, the first question he needs to ask is, "Do you believe Andre Iguodala can play the two guard?" If the answer is no, the interview should end right there. You may think this is hyperbole, but it's not. After the jump we'll take a look at some splits and talk about the future of this franchise, at least in the near term.

Click for full story. The NBA All-Defensive team was announced this afternoon. Notably absent from the list was Andre Iguodala. After the jump we'll look at the rosters and laugh at little bit at some of the odd votes.

Click for full story. There are two ways to look at the 2009-2010 Sixers right now. In one picture, Andre Miller is re-signed, they use a portion of the mid-level to get a shooter (hopefully more successful than Kareem Rush) and they hope that Elton Brand's return will catapult them to the top of the Eastern Conference. The second picture is far less clear, and possibly more realistic.

Click for full story. After playing their worst game of the series in a killer game 5 loss, the fate of the Sixers season will rest in the hands of the man pictured above for the next 24 hours or so. Dwight Howard should be suspended for game six. The league has a clear history on things like this. He intentionally elbowed Sam Dalembert in the face, it was not in the heat of action. It was a cheap shot and he should be sitting out game 6. We all remember what happened in the Suns/Spurs series a couple of years back, the league made it very clear that exceptions are not made in the playoffs. No we have to wait to see if they follow the same credo in this situation.

Click for full story. For most of the game on Sunday, the Orlando Magic sent a hard double at Andre Iguodala whenever a screen was set for him on the perimeter. It was predictable, it was sometimes effective and it was also the reason they so easily tied the game up at 81. They drew up a perfect play to exploit the double, and I'd like to talk about some other things this particular defensive strategy could open up for the Sixers.

Click for full story. This series could be over. The Sixers could have swept. At the same time, Orlando could've swept. Instead, we're tied 2-2 and even though the Magic have stolen home court advantage back, this series is far from decided.

Click for full story. A 2-1 lead in a seven-game series is nice, but we've been here before. It feels good, but not Christmas-morning good. What would feel great? Well, being up 3-1, obviously. Keys and the in-game discussion after the jump.

Click for full story. This game should not have been decided by two points. The free throw shooting was atrocious in the fourth quarter, and the Sixers should've put Orlando out of its misery much, much earlier. Still, a win is a win. And a win in the playoffs is gold, especially in a swing game. Thoughts on game three after the jump.

Click for full story. End of the day, the Sixers are headed back to the Wach with home court advantage in their back pocket. This game was a missed opportunity. This game left me extremely, extremely angry, but I'm trying to keep things in some kind of perspective. After the jump we'll take a look at what I consider some serious, serious flaws in Coach DiLeo's rotations.
