I have a kind of fun research project in mind for the next couple of days and I'm looking for a control group. It's been said here and everywhere else by some people that Andre Iguodala is not a shooting guard. If you fall into that camp, answer this question in the comments: Who would you want as your shooting guard, if you could choose anyone in the league? Let's leave the obvious ones out of the argument (Wade and Kobe).

I've talked about my belief in the core of this team. This season has whittled it down to its purest form. Two players, an honest-to-goodness pure point guard and a swing capable of playing the two or the three. Between then, they can effectively guard four positions on the floor. If things progress as I believe they could, they could easily average 35 points, 10+ boards and 10+ assists per game between them. After the jump, let's take a look around the league and see how Andre Iguodala and Jrue Holiday would measure up, should they reach their potential together.

Since 33 points, 11 assists, 8 rebounds, 5 steals, 1 block and only 3 turnovers simply isn't enough for a segment of Sixers fans, I decided to take a closer look at the overall effort Andre Iguodala put forth in yesterday's overtime loss to the Raptors. Check it out after the jump.

Kate Fagan's article this morning talks a lot about a glaring need for the Sixers, a shooting guard. This is nothing new, and the past two games illustrate the difference having a capable spot-up shooter can make to the other players who will most likely be on the team next season. Here's my question to you: Why does the perimeter threat have to come from the shooting guard?

Just one day without lamenting the ramifications of this win, that's my proposal. Forget about how important losses are and just revel in what was an excellent game of basketball and hopefully a glimpse of what will fuel this team in the future (Jrue and Iguodala). Spend your Saturday thinking about the game on the court we saw Friday night, the other stuff, well it can wait until Sunday.

We've been debating Andre Iguodala's injury in the comments for a couple days now. Specifically, we've talked quite a bit about his decision to play through the pain. The Sixers somehow succeeded in making an embarrassing home loss into a non-story tonight. Their diversions: Cutting ties with a legend, a coach meltdown and a possible serious injury to their $80M power forward. Yep, that'll do the trick.

Late last night I was thinking about the Sixers and checking out various stats when a thought came to me. I've been in the camp that the Sixers have a core worth building around, or at least the beginning of one. When I was looking at the stats, and ages, of the players on the team, I couldn't help but ask myself a few very tough questions. I'd like to get your thoughts after the jump.

I have no idea if the glow will last. I have no idea if the Sixers will come out flat tomorrow night against the Bulls. I'm not sure if there's a way to recreate it, but for about 18 minutes of game time tonight, the Sixers actually resembled a team. The catalyst? Sam Dalembert, and he couldn't even watch the results in person.

UPDATED 2/15 The Sixers may or may not trade their best player, Andre Iguodala. One thing is certain, however. The rumors are going to continue until the trade deadline passes. We'll use this post to keep track of who's rumored to be interested, and I'll surface the post whenever a new rumor breaks.

This win streak started with the Sixers talented players overcoming their asinine coach's rotations. At this point, it doesn't seem to matter who he puts on the floor. The Sixers extended their streak to five in dramatic fashion with a no-doubt-about-it butt kicking of the T-Wolves in front of hundreds of fans at the Wach.
