Click for full story. The Hawks are now kind of where I thought the Sixers would be at this point a couple years back. They clawed their way out of the cellar and consistently improved to the point where they became a perennial playoff team. Unfortunately, it looks like that's where they'll probably top out. It's usually a pretty even contest when these teams meet, hopefully the Sixers can steal one in Atlanta.

Click for full story. The Philadelphia 76ers completely outclassed the Atlanta Hawks for 43 minutes tonight. They stifled everything the Hawks tried to do on the offensive end. They dominated the boards. They ran crisp offense and shared the ball. They were well on their way to a double-digit win, on the road, against a legitimate playoff team. Then...

Click for full story. This isn't quite a mid term. Atlanta is a solid playoff team, but their missing their most-overpaid best player. So consider this game as just a pop quiz for the Sixers. They've beaten two playoff teams from last season in their previous six games. They've been playing much better basketball over the past three. Can they keep the momentum going in Atlanta tonight?

Click for full story. The Philadelphia 76ers are worth the price of admission. There's no doubt about that statement right now. When they're bad, and they've had some horrible stretches in the first two games, it's like watching a trainwreck. Their glaring weakness is laid bare on nearly every play. Doug Collins is helpless to stop it. But when they're good, they're electric. We had a taste of both in tonight's 104-101 loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

Click for full story. For the second time in three days, the Sixers will take on a team bound for the playoffs. The Atlanta Hawks put on an offensive show against the Grizzlies on Wednesday, dropping 119 points in a 15-point win. This team isn't searching for the offensive identity like the Heat were, they're familiar with each other and they're going to present significant matchup problems.

Click for full story. Just one day without lamenting the ramifications of this win, that's my proposal. Forget about how important losses are and just revel in what was an excellent game of basketball and hopefully a glimpse of what will fuel this team in the future (Jrue and Iguodala). Spend your Saturday thinking about the game on the court we saw Friday night, the other stuff, well it can wait until Sunday.

Click for full story. The Hawks are currently deadlocked with the Celtics for the #3 seed in the East, only 3.5 games behind the Magic (who they beat on Wednesday) for the #2 seed, and clearly have a ton of motivation to win this game against the cellar-dwelling Sixers. Hopefully, the Sixers don't realize that and try to do something foolish, like play the spoiler.

Click for full story. Take a look back over the past couple seasons (no really, I'll wait). The Atlanta Hawks, who will play host to the Sixers tonight, aren't dissimilar to Philly. They're kind of built the same way, with versatile athletic guys. They even have their old, slower than a snail point guard in Mike Bibby. This time last season, the Sixers were actually trying to chase Atlanta down for the #4 seed in the East. My how things change.
