What basketball team do you root for. It's clear you have no positive things to say about the sixers. ...

It's always a challenge to find the picture to put atop a recap post, tonight I decided to go with the angriest rich guy in Detroit, Pistons owner Tom Gores. He looks like I felt at the end of previous five Sixers games. Not tonight, though. For one night, at least, the Sixers looked like a powerhouse again in a demonstrative win. (game capsule).

...losses. But thankfully, following immediately after the fifth loss in the string comes five straight off days. Houston outlasted the Sixers in an ugly game tonight, a game the Sixers desperately needed but predictably coughed up. (game capsule).

When a coach finds himself at the helm of a team circling the drain, sometimes he tries to mix things up. You could call it grasping at straws. You might call it pressing the panic button. Whatever you call it, Doug Collins did it tonight when he started Andres Nocioni at power forward. The result: A humongous hole in the first quarter the team could never dig themselves out of. (game capsule).

When the Sixers take the floor tonight in Memphis, Marreese Speights will most likely make his 25th start for the Grizzlies. In three-plus seasons in Philly, Speights started a grand total of 4 games. Speights has put up gaudy numbers in a couple of games (20/18, 19/9, 12/15) which has left many Sixers fans asking "Why couldn't he play here." Well, the gaudy numbers are great, but at the end of the day, he's still the same Marreese.

Kevin Love calmly sank two free throws with 0.1 showing on the clock to extinguish the Sixers hopes of snapping a two-game losing streak on the road in Minnesota. Two things led to Love getting to the line, but those two things were merely symptoms, not the cause of the loss. (game capsule).

Stretch fours. Big, strong, aggressive centers. Tenacious offensive rebounders. Three things the Sixers really don't have much of an answer for, three things the Minnesota Timberwolves have in spades.
