With no true post player, and the only legit scoring threat up front being a small, non-stretch PF, the Sixers are left to rely on their backcourt for a whole lot. On the defensive end, they have to work from the outside in. On the offensive end, not only do the smalls have to spoon-feed opportunities to the bigs, but they have to handle the bulk of the scoring as well. For the first 25 games of the season, they did just that. In the last six, they haven't even come close.

Tucked right between a three-game road trip and a four-game road trip is one game at the WFC for the Sixers, against the defending champs. The Mavs started slowly, but they'll bring a five-game win streak along with them tonight. The Sixers have their work cut out for them in their first national game of the season.

The Sixers used a horrible start to the first quarter, a disastrous end to the first half and consistently poor defensive rotations to submarine what was little more than a few spirited stretches of play in their 87-103 loss to the Magic. (game capsule).

When the Sixers beat the Magic 74-69 a couple of weeks ago, the Magic were in the midst of a dreadful four-game losing streak. Since that game, Orlando has won six of eight games, and their two losses came in overtime. It's probably going to be a very different team the Sixers will face in Orlando tonight.

The Sixers played a pretty ugly game in Charlotte tonight, but did just enough to come out with a pretty average win. They were far from energetic and dominant, but when the game was on the line they came up with the stops and buckets they needed. As they say, it looks like a line drive in the box score. When fully healthy, the Charlotte Bobcats might just be the worst team in the NBA. Without Gerald Henderson and D.J. Augustin, well, it's a little less debatable. The Sixers have made a habit out of destroying teams like this, they need to keep their foot on the gas tonight and chalk up another road win heading into another tough stretch of games beginning Wednesday.

If you had told me the Sixers would be 10 games over .500 at any point during the 2011-2012 season back in the summer, I would've bet my life on the catalyst being Jrue making a major leap in his third season.
