It's hard to believe we're a third of the way through the season and in 20 days we'll be halfway there, but that's what the schedule is telling us. The Sixers have finished their first two elevens at 8-3 and currently sit tied with Miami and Atlanta for the #2 spot in the Eastern Conference. Let's take a quick look back over the second 11 and forward to the next dozen-minus-one.

The latest in a string of demonstrative wins came over Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls tonight at the Wells Fargo Center, 98-82. Here's the thing about this win that should have people taking notice. The Sixers played the exact same game they've been playing all year. They used the exact same formula they've been using to kill bad teams to absolutely demoralize the Chicago Bulls. Derek Rose had no clue what to do against the Sixers defense in the third quarter. For all intents and purposes, the Bulls looked about as effective against this Sixers defense as the Wizards. (game capsule, by the way, check after the jump for the rest of the posterization above)

Then why acknowledge me with your comment after the game then? ...

Whenever the Sixers are mentioned, by anyone, as a good team the disclaimer "they haven't beaten anyone good" has to be included. For some reason, the Bulls are immune to the same scrutiny, but should they be?

I dont think you understand the word "can"...

Well, not really. The Sixers put the screws to the Orlando Magic on the defensive end for about 45 minutes tonight. It was only after Stan Van Gundy threw in the towel that the Sixers took their foot off the gas and allowed the Magic to backdoor their way into a five-point defeat. (game capsule).

This is pretty much a non-rumor, but it's also early Sunday morning and there isn't much else going on, so why not toss it out there. CSN is reporting the Sixers checked in with the Knicks on Amare Stoudemire's availability. It was described as nothing more than "due diligence" but let's break it down anyway.
