In case you hadn't noticed, I'm quite down on the Sixers front office these days. In fact, this is probably the lowest I've been on them in the past decade.

I took another look at Doug Collins' first press conference as the Sixers head coach earlier tonight. Then I listened to him being interviewed by a couple of Philly sports talk characters again. This time, I wasn't so much trying to figure out what type of coach he's going to be, I was more interested in how much control he's going to have over the roster.

The coach is in place. The season of misery led to an improbably, almost miraculous result in the lottery and the number two pick in next month's draft is waiting. Ed Stefanski appears to be secure in his position as general manager for the time being. Certainty should be the word that describes the past week. Feel free to call me a pessimist, but I'm still left with a number of questions. Foremost among them, what does ownership expect from Stefanski and Collins in 2010-2011?

I have an extremely hard time believing Ed Stefanski will make a blockbuster trade that basically amounts to a salary dump in the next two weeks. That's not to say the Sixers won't pull the trigger on one of these rumored deals, but Stefansk? I don't see how he could possibly keep his job if this is the direction the franchise is headed.

The Iguodala rumors are heating up, there's talk the Cavs are still in the mix, someone floated the idea of the Clippers being interested. Apparently there may be a market for Lou Williams no as well. None of that matters in the least. Check after the jump for the only rumor that actually has me excited.

Contrary to popular belief, making a mistake is not the worst thing you can do in a position of power. Mistakes happen. They're a part of life. For the most part, mistakes can be overcome and lessons can be learned. The biggest sin a decision-maker can commit is to make a mistake, then compound that mistake by failing to correct it. The sin becomes unforgivable when the reason for leaving it uncorrected is less-than honorable. I received quite a shock this morning when I checked my Sixers Google alerts and found that a two-game winning streak had ended GM Ed Stefanski's vow of silence regarding his flailing team. When I clicked through to the link, my day took a dark, dark turn. Apparently, the Sixers have found their favorite journalist, Bob Cooney. Cooney is apparently a guy who will write the story they want and won't ask a single follow-up.
