Click for full story. While the future of the Sixers rests squarely on the shoulders of Andre Iguodala, Thaddeus Young, Marreese Speights, Lou Williams and Jrue Holiday, the 2009-2010 season will most likely be defined by the biggest acquisition from 2008. A guy we haven't heard a whole lot about since he went down in February, Elton Brand.

Click for full story. The Sixers' backcourt has garnered the lion's share of attention so far this summer, and rightly so, but there are issues up front as well. After the jump I'll lay out what I think the rotations at the four and the five should look like.

Click for full story. About 53 weeks ago, Ed Stefanski cashed in all of his chips and went for broke to sign the premiere free agent on the market, at a position of need. He cleared enough cap room to sign Elton Brand, and as one we all praised him. Even the most cynical Sixers fans were uttering the word contender (looking at you, Tray). How does what's happened since that day change the way we view the signing now?

Click for full story. It's rare that a rumor is denied before I even catch wind of it, but it happened today. The rumor apparently sprung from a report in the South Florida Sun Sentinel, but for the life of me I can't find the original source. Anyway, Ed Stefanski quickly shot it down, and later today Bethlehem Shoals had his own take on the matter for the Sporting News. We'll examine the rumor after the jump and I'll give my take.

Click for full story. After speaking with Coach Jordan yesterday morning, and listening to him interviewed alongside Ed Stefanski on the WIP in the afternoon, one thing became abundantly clear to me. As of June 4th, the plan for this team is to start Andre Iguodala at the three, Thad Young at the four and Elton Brand at the five. After the jump, we'll examine what this means in terms of mismatches.

Click for full story. I'm going to dip into the vernacular of the medical field for two phrases for today's entry in the radical idea series. DNR (do not resuscitate) and "First do no harm." I'll explain after the jump.

Click for full story. I finally found the time to go through the local writers' reactions to the Brand injury, they range from spot on to asinine, and a couple fall in between. Highlights after the jump.

Click for full story. According to the man himself, Elton Brand's shoulder injury is not only causing him pain, but restricting his movement. He's going to have the shoulder re-evaluated and could miss some more time, or opt for surgery.

Click for full story. Samuel Dalembert's status for tonight's game is still unknown, but if I had to bet, I'd put money on him missing at least a couple of games. Last night, after the injury, Elton Brand started at the five, with Miller, Green, Iggy and Thad rounding out the lineup. If Sammy can't go tonight, that's the lineup I'd expect to see.

Click for full story. Tom Moore reports that Coach DiLeo thinks it's still to early to put EB back in the starting lineup. DiLeo also seems to be on the fence about who will take a seat, it does, however, appear to be narrowed down to Willie or Thad. No small-lineups with Brand at center, at least not to start the game.
