Click for full story. On the heels of losing Thad Young for three weeks, the Sixers suffered through a terrible loss at the hands of the Pacers last night and found out they'll be without the services of Jason Richardson for the remainder of the season. Richardson has been pretty pedestrian this year, and they've made due without him for the past three weeks, but he's an able body. Something this team is lacking more and more each day.

Click for full story. Spencer Hawes went down with a back injury seventeen days ago. Since, he's played in a couple of games, but he was never full strength. Nikola Vucevic injured his quad/knee six days ago. The Sixers came into the season undermanned at the five, their started went down two-and-a-half weeks ago, their backup almost a week ago and they just now got around to working someone out?
Latest comment: from Stuff
Ugh. Is this the best they can do?...

Click for full story. We've been debating Andre Iguodala's injury in the comments for a couple days now. Specifically, we've talked quite a bit about his decision to play through the pain. After the jump I'll share a link that explains the injury itself, and talk a bit about how the team has handled injuries this season.

Click for full story. If you look at the teams who have tanked successfully, without having a roster devoid of talent, traditionally they've had injuries to grease the skids, if you will. The Sixers have had some injuries this season, but none to the players who really matter when we're talking about winning and losing games. Heading into tonight's game against the Nets, perhaps quantity will make up for quality, where the injury bug is concerned.

Click for full story. Elton Brand missed practice yesterday with a strained right calf (not the same leg as the Achilles injury). He said he tweaked the calf on 2/19 against San Antonio, and he's been playing hurt. He's listed as day-to-day. I say take as long as you need, then take a couple more days.

Click for full story. Allen Iverson didn't make the trip to Boston, he will miss tomorrow night's game due to arthritis. I knew the guy was old, but arthritis? Well, we're short one guard, meaning Eddie Jordan has a decision to make with his starting lineup tonight. Is there any doubt in your mind who's going to get the nod?

Click for full story. Wow. When Speights went down with the MCL sprain on November 14th, word out of the Sixers camp was 6-8 weeks before his return, this morning he was listed as probable for tonight's game. 6-8 weeks has apparently been trimmed to four weeks and change.

Click for full story. Bad news for Lou Williams broke earlier today. He had surgery on his fractured jaw and will miss eight weeks, his jaw is currently wired shut. Horrible news for Lou in his first season as a start, but a silver lining for the team, in my eyes.

Click for full story. And the hits just keep on coming. Via Twitter the Sixers announced Marreese Speights will miss 6 to 8 weeks with a slight tear of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee. No word on whether surgery will be needed.

Click for full story. The AP is reporting Courtney Lee has a fractured sinus and will miss game 6 in Philly tomorrow night. He may be done for the series. The same story says the league office is reviewing Howard's elbow on Sam for possible suspension. It's kind of ironic that had the refs followed the rulebook and ejected Howard for he elbow Lee wouldn't have gotten hurt.

Click for full story. 59-23. That's an impressive record. Daunting, even. I mean, 60 win seasons don't come along very often and the Magic were oh so close. Just imagine if they hadn't lost to the Knicks at home last Friday. That number, 59, along with several others is what so many people are hanging their hats on as we head into game one. The only problem is, the more relevant win total for Orlando is 23.

Click for full story. If the season ended today, the Sixers would finish seventh in the Eastern Conference, their opponents in the first round, the Boston Celtics. It just so happens, those same Celtics will be arriving at the Wach in a few minutes for a 7 p.m. tip. Stats, keys, thoughts and in-game discussion after the jump.

Click for full story. All signs point to Thad Young returning to action tonight against the Celtics in the Sixers penultimate game of the regular season. Thad thinks he'll be good for 15-20 minutes tonight, and will also play tomorrow night in Cleveland in the finale. After the jump we'll talk about how important for the team it is that he'll be back on the floor for these two games.

Click for full story. My casual observation of the Sixers over the past 5 games is that they lack focus, heart, desire and a sense of urgency. One thing I've learned, however, is that casual observations never tell the whole story. So instead of the knee-jerk reaction to Thad's absence, I figured it was time to look at some numbers and maybe draw some educated conclusions about what his absence has meant to the team.

Click for full story. Not one but two stories about Thad's rehab today over at Philly.com. The Sixers have Thad doing some light jogging and flat-footed shooting, but they have forbidden him from jumping.
