We're now three games into the Jodie Meeks era and the early returns certainly look positive. In two of three games, Meeks has caught fire from distance in the first quarter, setting the tone for the game. But, as Derek Bodner noted on Twitter and GoSixers mentioned in the comments here, he isn't really contributing in any other area. The question is, does that matter?

Six up, fourteen down. Sixty-two left to be played. Doug Collins has the Sixers overachieving, as far as I'm concerned. The only question is whether they can keep it up and whether he'll be able to figure out how to best utilize Evan Turner, before this terrible start can gain enough momentum to submarine his entire rookie campaign. Let's take a look back over the first twenty: stats, POTG leader board and individual player report cards.

After last night's tragic collapse, it would've been easy for the Sixers to hang their heads. It would've been easy to come back home tonight, look at the half-empty WFC, put their tail between their legs and let a physical Charlotte Bobcats team have their way with them. Sleepwalk through the game, then rest up in their own beds before continuing the home stand on Tuesday. This Sixers group, however, never seems to take the easy way out.

A nine-point loss to Miami, in Miami, is nothing to be ashamed of. More than that, the Sixers should probably hold their heads up high for making a game of it. Still, I can't bring myself to use the term "moral victory" when the Sixers repeatedly shot themselves in the foot. If you squinted really hard, it almost looked like they gave this game to Miami, but that can't be right. I mean, Miami is going to win 70+ games.

Outgunned and down their best player, the Sixers went into Oklahoma City tonight prohibitive underdogs. They limped out with their sixth loss in eight games, but the guys who suited up deserve to board their charter flight to Dallas with their heads held high.

I'll be the first to admit that I have strong feelings about certain members of this team. Mainly, guys who hover on the periphery of the "young core." In the great tradition of Depressed Fan, I hope I'll be proven wrong about one or two. After the jump, let's take a shot at guessing which one(s) will exceed expectations.

After starting out 2-0 in the Orlando Summer League, the Sixers have dropped back down to .500 and looked miserable doing it.

ESPN is reporting the Sixers and Bucks have agreed on a trade which will send Royal Ivey, Primoz Brezec and a second-round pick to Milwaukee for Jodie Meeks and Francisco Elson. Analysis after the jump.
