The Sixers centers have been a big, big problem on both ends of the floor so far this season. Their inability to finish, their inability to rebound, their inability to defend the post. They've been exposed. These shortcomings make a traditional pick-and-roll game impotent. Last night, the Sixers finally made an adjustment to their P&R, with decent results.

If I told you Jrue only turned the ball over one time and went to the line nine times, how much would you guess the Sixers won by? 10? 20? In allowing the Detroit Pistons to pick up their first win of the season, the Sixers demonstrated exactly how badly they need Andrew Bynum. The Sixer bigs were an embarrassment last night, and the fact their performance stood out to me when the entire team shot 29% from the floor says something.

Back in June, with disconcerting rumors about the Sixers ownership/front office swirling, I chose to bide my time. Who's in charge, who's make decisions, those are typically secondary concerns. Possibly, they aren't concerns at all. Who makes a decision carries no meaning without the decisions themselves present to be evaluated. Well, now we have a handful of decisions, and possibly the outline of a plan...or a direction...or maybe two plans and two directions. Let's take stock.
