Click for full story. I came to a startling realization tonight as I was laughing this loss off over dinner with my wife. She asked me why I was laughing when in the past I've basically been catatonic after a game like this. I thought about it for a second and then the reason hit me, it's because I never, ever, not for one single second got caught up in their fourth quarter run. I never believed they'd win the game, not even when they scratched and clawed their way back to tie it at 102. It was a sad moment, definitely the low point for me since I started this blog and I'll explain how I got here after the jump.

Click for full story. The Mavericks are more talented than the Sixers, they have a better coach, they have a better owner, they have fans who show up for games. They have porn-star hair, future hall-of-famers, cool nicknames like "Matrix, "Jet" and "Dumpier." They haven't played a game since Saturday and they're playing in the comfort of their own arena. The Sixers, on the other hand, are playing the ass-end of a back-to-back and none of their players was recently engaged to a deranged grifter, so they've got that going for them.

Click for full story. Yes, their winning streak was snapped at seven games today when Dirk Nowitzki sank the dagger jumper at the buzzer pictured above, but that's not really the streak I care about. This winning streak began after the Sixers battled the Spurs and lost on a last-second prayer by Tony Parker, and now it's been brought to a halt by the same from Dirk Nowitzki. Both shots sting, but neither takes away from the quality basketball the Sixers are playing.

Click for full story. Twelve poor minutes of basketball did the Sixers in tonight. It's a familiar theme. They play their brand of basketball for three quarters, then in the fourth, better teams force them into the half court and it all falls apart.

Click for full story. The Dallas Mavericks traded Devin Harris to the New Jersey Nets last season for Jason Kidd (the deal was larger than that, but those were the key pieces.) Since then, Harris has emerged as a scoring machine for the Nets while Kidd is winding down his career in Dallas. Tonight, the Sixers will look to build off their win over the Clippers, the Mavs are going for three straight after beating the Clippers on the road and the T-Wolves at home. A look at the stats and a couple of match-ups after the jump.

Click for full story. If you missed the first half of tonight's game at Dallas, you missed pretty much all the good basketball you were going to see out of the Sixers. Philly went into the locker room up 50-43, and really played an...
