Click for full story. Phoenix and Philadelphia both wanted to shove a horrible season of basketball down their fans' throats this year in the hope they'd be able to land a top pick in this summer's stacked draft. Phoenix blew their chances early and will probably have to fight and claw to hold on to the 7 or 8 seed in the West. The Sixers, well, they're still in the process of throwing away a golden opportunity.

Click for full story. With the same energy they displayed in dispatching the Lakers on Tuesday, the Sixers would've cruised to a win in Phoenix last night. But that energy was nowhere to be found. In its place, a team who coasted through long stretches of the game with this false sense of security. This unfounded belief they would be able to turn it on late to pull out a win. They couldn't.

Click for full story. Fight back against a good team on the road: check. Demolish a bad team on the road: check. Build up a big lead, don't let the other team come back: check. Three minor items on the Sixers to-do list early in the season, all three in the yes column. 103-83 was the final in Phoenix last night (game capsule).

Click for full story. The Sixers essentially beat themselves in Portland with a slew of turnovers, but it was a tough game, in a tough arena against a good team. A test, if you will, for a team with big plans and probably some more work to do to reach their goals. Tonight's game in Phoenix against the Suns, however, is a game they absolutely should win.

Click for full story. If you can somehow put the final 3:41 of this game out of your mind, the Sixers absolutely dominated the Suns tonight for their 19th win of the year. You know what, I'm going to forget the finishing stretch of this game, it wasn't indicative of the other 44 minutes and change.

Click for full story. Since the Sixers thrashed the Suns 123-110 in Phoenix, Steve Nash has led them to a 7-5 record. The overall record is probably more impressive if you don't look at who the Suns played over that stretch, but still, they've been playing better basketball. Phoenix is coming off a one-point loss in Detroit, a game in which they scored only 74 points.

Click for full story. Andre Iguodala missed his second consecutive game but his replacements more than picked up the slack against a defensively disinterested Phoenix Suns squad. About halfway through the game, I realized Vince Carter will be a perfect fit for the Suns. He's only 50% more disinterested than the entire franchise. This game may just have been Evan Turner's coming out party, and it was definitely fun to watch.

Click for full story. The forgotten team in the Orlando trade mess of a week or so ago was the same Phoenix Suns the Sixers will take on later tonight. There's a chance Vince Carter will make his debut for the Suns, but the guy who's been filling in as the starting SG in Jason Richardson's absence has put together a couple impressive games in his interim role as starter.

Click for full story. Win, lose, win, lose, win ... and lose. This is getting tiresome. The Sixers followed up their win at GSW on Tuesday night by sleepwalking through a big loss in Phoenix last night.

Click for full story. The second night of a back-to-back typically means a whole lot of trouble for the Sixers (4-9 on second night for the season). Fortunately, the Suns are also on the back-end of a b-to-b, having played in OKC last night, and their record in these situations is just a bad (4-9). Quick preview and a long game thread after the jump.
