Interesting story, thanks for the link....

For the second consecutive game, the Sixers have closed out a tight contest with a relentless attack of the hoop, a chip on their shoulder and suffocating defense. Every run was answered today. Every Bulls foray into the lane met with a hard contest, foul, or both. The Sixers took care of home court advantage and hold a commanding 3-1 lead over the Bulls in this first round matchup. The Sixers spent the first three quarters scuffling for points any way they could find them and stifling the Bulls on the other end of the floor. Unfortunately, the Bulls defense was better and the Sixers couldn't hit the jumpers the Bulls were giving them. In the fourth quarter, that all changed. They scored 28 points on 19 possessions, led by Jrue Holiday and Evan Turner, who wouldn't be denied. (game capsule)

Mike Prada from SB Nation put together the animated .GIF above of what is probably the best thing I've seen happen on the sidelines of a Sixers game in the past six years or so. All season long we've seen glimpses of or heard rumors about Doug Collins' short leash with Evan Turner. Well, there was nothing hidden about this glorious moment in which Collins finally reached the point with Spencer Hawes any sane individual would've reached about five games into his Philly career. Click through to enjoy a larger version on a continuous loop.

The first half of tonight's game played out like many others over the last half of the season, minus Jrue Holiday's offensive explosion. The Sixers scored enough points to stay in the game, but their defense was extremely porous and not being able to get stops led to an eight-point halftime deficit. The second half, though, was reminiscent of the ball these guys played during their 20-9 start. Add it up, and you get a blowout win on the road in the playoffs. (game capsule).

Philadelphia's poor performance in the opener of their first-round series against the Bulls stopped being the story with 1:10 left in the game when Derrick Rose tore his ACL on a crazy jump-stop in the lane. Rose's absence is certainly an advantage for the Sixers in the remaining games of the series, but he didn't beat them today. The Sixers have a lot of work to do, schematically, on the defensive end prior to game two. (game capsule)

I really like the stuff you put in here. Very applicable information. Consider yourself book-marked....

As we've been reminded continuously, this Sixers team is pretty much the same Sixers team we've seen for the past half decade. If we're talking about ceilings, or draft picks, or regular season winning percentage, that's a bad thing. If we're talking about playoff performance, well, maybe it's not that bad.
