Click for full story. After being justifiably showered with boos last night in a half-empty Wachovia Center, maybe getting away for a game is just what the doctor ordered for this lost Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers team. Maybe this trip to Chicago, as the decided underdog against a team that seems to be lost as well will be the wake-up call we've all been hoping for. Preview after the jump.

Click for full story. The good news first: Deron Williams will not be available for the Jazz tonight. And now the bad news: Without Williams the Jazz officially go from a formidable opponent, if slightly weakened, who will bring out the best in the Sixers, to a perfect opportunity for the Sixers to underwhelm against a shaky squad.

Click for full story. The Phoenix Suns have to be considered the surprise team of the early season. With a 6-1 record, including a road win in Boston, they're in driver's seat in the Pacific Division, tied with the Lakers but getting road games in the win column early on. Nash is playing at MVP level again, Amare is back. Channing Frye is suddenly an offensive weapon. This is a tough matchup for the Sixers, without a doubt. There are a few buts, we'll get into them after the jump.

Click for full story. Get it, no "D." It's not technically true, they're a middle-of-the-pack defensive team, statistically, and their numbers are much better than the Sixers, but they aren't what they used to be. Not even close. Check out the preview after the jump.

Click for full story. The Boston Celtics are rolling through their schedule right now, and it's not surprising. They're talented and you'd expect them to torture opponents when they're at full strength. The question from now until the Big Three retire is always going to be, however, how long until one or more of them gets hurt. For our purposes, though, it's a mixed blessing that they'll be at full strength tonight at the Wach. I'll explain after the jump.

Click for full story. The Sixers will continue their hunt for win number one tonight in their home opener. In their sights, the Milwaukee Bucks. Unfortunately, I can't come up with a third hunting reference to fit....wait....Brandon Jennings will be making his first career start at the point, hopefully he'll look like a deer in the headlights! There it is. Preview and game thread after the jump.

Click for full story. For a team who made it one step away from the promised land, the Orlando Magic made a boatload of changes over the summer. You don't usually see this kind of turnover after a surprisingly successful run, but Orlando was bold. After the jump we'll take a look at the matchups and try to figure out if this Magic team will look anything like the team that ended the Sixers season last April.

Click for full story. Call it luck, call it karma, call it whatever you like. If the reports are true, the Sixers are catching a huge break tonight. Danny Granger, Troy Murphy and Marquis Daniels won't make the flight to Philly.

Click for full story. Here is my ultimate key for tonight's Wizards/Sixers game at the Wach. Whichever team attempts the fewest three pointers will win the game. Write it down. Take it to the bank.
