The schedule is out, and the Sixers will open the season in Portland on boxing day. Their West Coast trip lasts five games and features a back-to-back, a tough one, going from Utah to Golden State for their typical New Year's Eve game (my wife is thrilled about this). More on the schedule after the jump.

Later today in what can either be described as a "thumbing their noses at us," or "slapping us in the face," move, the NBA will release the schedule for the 2011-2012 season. Typically, this is the day when I take a look and try to pinpoint a couple games I'm going to buy tickets for. It's just another step to build the excitement for the upcoming season. This year, it's just cruel.
