Click for full story. The latest in a string of demonstrative wins came over Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls tonight at the Wells Fargo Center, 98-82. Here's the thing about this win that should have people taking notice. The Sixers played the exact same game they've been playing all year. They used the exact same formula they've been using to kill bad teams to absolutely demoralize the Chicago Bulls. Derek Rose had no clue what to do against the Sixers defense in the third quarter. For all intents and purposes, the Bulls looked about as effective against this Sixers defense as the Wizards. (game capsule, by the way, check after the jump for the rest of the posterization above)

Click for full story. Certain teams can try to funnel Derrick Rose to a shotblocker. It works sometimes, other times he just dunks on your shotblocker or puts crazy english on a ball and kisses it off the backboard at a crazy angle. The Sixers, obviously, don't have that option. Their best chance at slowing down Rose is to utilize the strength of their roster, perimeter defenders.

Click for full story. Whenever the Sixers are mentioned, by anyone, as a good team the disclaimer "they haven't beaten anyone good" has to be included. For some reason, the Bulls are immune to the same scrutiny, but should they be?

Click for full story. Well, not really. The Sixers put the screws to the Orlando Magic on the defensive end for about 45 minutes tonight. It was only after Stan Van Gundy threw in the towel that the Sixers took their foot off the gas and allowed the Magic to backdoor their way into a five-point defeat. (game capsule).

Click for full story. Dwight Howard does not want to come to Philadelphia...yet. Howard may be seeking the limelight, or a cushier existence in terms of who he plays with, or lucrative endorsement deals, or national exposure beyond what Orlando provides, or maybe even a ring. Whatever his motivations may be, until he signs a contract elsewhere, the Sixers are in the game. The only thing the Sixers can do to win Howard's favor is to sell themselves as an organization. Hammering the Magic on the floor tonight would be a good first step.

Click for full story. It's gotten to the point where every single thread is being hijacked with the Turner vs. Meeks discussion, and really nothing has been added to the conversation by either side in the first month of the season, so it's time to segregate these discussions. If you have anything to say about the subject, post it here. If you post it elsewhere, it will be deleted.

Click for full story. This is pretty much a non-rumor, but it's also early Sunday morning and there isn't much else going on, so why not toss it out there. CSN is reporting the Sixers checked in with the Knicks on Amare Stoudemire's availability. It was described as nothing more than "due diligence" but let's break it down anyway.

Click for full story. The Sixers impressed tonight with their play, to be sure, but what was perhaps more impressive was their energy. On the second night of a back-to-back, against a bad team, with a series of  games against strong teams on the horizon, the Sixers showed a relentless focus and put the Pistons away for their 14th win of the season. (game capsule).

Click for full story. The Sixers followed up probably their best two quarters of basketball with twelve minutes more minutes of top-notch defense only to see their bench warmers limp to the finish in tonight's 17-point win over the Bobcats. (game capsule).

Click for full story. The Sixers suffered their first bad loss of the season on Wednesday night at the hands of the Nets. Tonight, they get a chance to get their feet back under them against another bad team (with injuries), but they can't make the same mistake they made against NJ. They need to come out with a sense of urgency and maintain it for 48 minutes.
