Click for full story. Lou Williams is definitely out for the next five games, possibly longer. Yesterday, we talked about how his minutes might be redistributed, we talked about Evan Turner's opportunity, we talked about Antonio Daniels being signed, we talked about what the team would be missing in Lou's absence. What we didn't look at is the possible positives of life without Lou.

Click for full story. Lou's MRI confirmed a strain of his right hamstring on Sunday. There is no definitive return date, it looks like they're going to reevaluate the injury frequently before committing to a timetable. At this point, there's no rush. Get him 100% fully healthy by the time the playoffs start, that's got to be the only priority. In the mean time, the team has five games left and they need to figure out how to fill Lou's spot.

Click for full story. The list of things that could've swung this game the other way is very, very long. If Jrue hits even half of the good looks he missed, they win. If Brand connects on one or two more of those elbow jumpers, they win. If Jrue's pass to Thad on the final play of regulation isn't three feet too high, they win. For tonight, take solace in that, chalk this one up as an ugly loss, and move on. When you wake up tomorrow, though, realize they have to rebound from this game quickly, and it's not going to be easy.

Click for full story. In yet another "this is what good teams do" type of game, the Sixers absolutely manhandled the Nets at the Wells Fargo Center last night. Right from the opening tip, it was clear which of these teams would eventually be heading to the playoffs. At the final buzzer, it was official.

Click for full story. With a win tonight, the Sixers will reach 40 wins on the season, they'll reach 4 games over .500 for the first time since April 5th, 2009, oh, and they'll clinch a playoff spot as well. Standing in their way? Deron Williams, a center with a stripper name and the rest of the New Jersey Nets.

Click for full story. Doug Collins stated last week that winning as many games as possible is the goal of this team. Playoff seeding and who the Sixers' first-round opponent may wind up being isn't really all that important beyond getting as many wins and the highest seed they can. It makes sense, especially with so much ambiguity among the top three seeds. What he hasn't mentioned, though, is how he's using these games to figure out his playoff rotation.

Click for full story. The defense wasn't there in the first half. They seemed a bit sluggish at times, and they were settling for too many jumpers. Houston couldn't miss a shot. After the break, though, the Sixers put their foot on the Rockets' throat and never let up. A nice, tidy double-digit win at home over a surging Western Conference foe. Good work.

Click for full story. Every time you think the other shoe has dropped, this Sixers team gets up, dusts itself off, and defies all logic. Tonight, a day after a terrible overtime loss to the hapless Kings, the Sixers went into the United Center (where they lost by 45 points in December) and put the East's best team away in a thrilling 97-85 decision. Every time you think they stink, they go out and prove they can play with anyone...anywhere.
