Click for full story. We very well may have seen the last Sixers game in Sacramento tonight. If that turns out to be the case, at least they'll have fond memories of California's capital. This is the type of win you like to see against a bad team, systematically rip them apart for the first three quarters, then clear the bench and rest the starters in the fourth.

Click for full story. Later tonight, the Sixers will face a team so bad they're literally being run out of Sacramento. OK, well, maybe it's their owners who are doing the running, but the point is, they're terrible. That doesn't mean they don't have some talented players, simply that the talented players they have are quite flawed, don't fit together, and in some cases are downright lunatics. Still, you can't take them lightly, so let's take a closer look.

Click for full story. I have to admit, the theory behind this post wound up being something very different from what I'm writing right now. The idea came from some stats TK76 tossed around in the comments over the past couple day about how hot Jodie Meeks has been of late. I was planning to write about how streaky Meeks is, and how the team's slim chances of winning a round in the playoffs could be dramatically altered depending on whether he's on a hot streak or a cold streak. Once I looked at the numbers, though, that idea flew right out the window.

Click for full story. Well, all I can say after last night's game is that I am irrationally excited about this team after a couple of bad losses.  Will they come back to Earth? Probably a little bit, but last night's performance showed me that the team is closer to their great play in February/March than their last two stinkers. Let's take a look at a key adjustment the Sixers made on the fly to change the tone of the game.

Click for full story. The Sixers desperately needed a win, and they went out there and took it from Blake Griffin, the Los Angeles Clippers and possibly the most incompetent group of referees I've ever had the displeasure of watching. Big, big win. Blake Griffin is going to wish he never has to face Elton Brand again when he blows out the candles on his birthday cake tonight.

Click for full story. The Sixers last faced the Clippers on the eve of leaving Philly for their longest road trip of the season. This time, the Clippers will play their first game back in LA after a five-game trip against the visiting Sixers. Slowing Blake Griffin down will be a focus, but I could care less if he scores 50, as long as the Sixers get the W.

Click for full story. The Sixers have lost consecutive games to teams they should have beaten for the first time since early January when Andre Iguodala was hurt. Just when the playoff race has begun to heat up, they've apparently wilted. You can pretty much forget about the fifth seed in the East. Luckily, though, the Knicks have picked a fine time to show their true colors.

Click for full story. If the comeback had resulted in a win we could've chalked this game up as a couple of bad quarters and then a resolve that would serve them well come playoff time. But it didn't. So all what we're left with is just a pitiful effort, again, for about 30 minutes. Then a furious comeback which left just enough time to blow a lead late in the game. The worst of both world's.

Click for full story. The amazing thing about the Sixers loss at Milwaukee on Saturday night isn't how badly they were beaten, it's that it was really the first game they should've won, but didn't, in nearly two months. Tonight, they need to get back on track, they can't afford even a week-long dip at this point of the season.

Click for full story. After an atrocious first couple months of their NBA season, the Philadelphia 76ers have rebounded well and are playing some of the hottest ball in the league. Currently, the Sixers are the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. If the playoffs started today, the Sixers would play the Chicago Bulls in the first round. However, with 16 games to play both the six (0.5 games behind) and even the five (4 games behind) seed seem to be obtainable goals for the Sixers.
