The Sixers will begin their toughest stretch of the year tonight in Dallas. Jrue is apparently listed as a game-time decision, but I'm going in certain he won't play. Collins said a few more days on Sunday, and no one comes back earlier than expected for this team...ever. So it's Turner's show to run for one more game, at least.

The Sixers picked up 12 wins without Andrew Bynum, over an easy stretch of the schedule. They've now matched those 12 wins with 12 losses heading into the toughest stretch of their schedule and I can't but feel the hole is going to be too deep to dig out of when the dust settles in January.

The Sixers will play host to the struggling Los Angeles Lakers tonight at the WFC. Kobe, Dwight and Co. currently sit at a deceptive 10-14 on the year, but their point differential (+2.3) tells a different story. They're dangerous, but disorganized with a PG to run the show. The Sixers, unfortunately, may also be without their starting PG. Jrue is listed as a game-time decision.

The Sixers may be without the services of Jrue Holiday (boot pictured above), who was diagnosed with a sprained foot yesterday, for their road game in Indy tonight. Jrue is officially day-to-day, and will travel with the team, so there's a chance he'll suit up. Either way, tonight is probably the point at which this schedule flips on its head.

Typically, in this league made for TV, production equals respect. I'm not talking about respect from the national media, or respect from the fans, I'm talking about respect from the refs. When you're an unknown rookie, you don't get the borderline whistles. When you're mostly a jump shooter who rarely ventures into the lane, you don't get the borderline whistles. When you're a finesse player who shies away from contact, you don't get the borderline whistles. Jrue is none of those things anymore, and it's about time he started getting the benefit of the doubt.

Will the Bulls be more angry or tired after a tough loss to the Clippers late last night in Chicago? Either way, the Bulls have holes the Sixers need to attack tonight if they're going to get even for a loss earlier in the year.

Jrue, Evan, Thad...JET? Eh, I'm not sold, but let's run with it for today. Those three guys all showed up last night, and the Sixers needed every last bit from them in their battle against the Pistons and their merciless parade to the foul line.

When the Sixers first met the Pistons, they were a helpless 0-8 on the season with more questions than answers. Rudderless, perhaps. On that night, nearly a month ago, the Sixers came out lifeless and got their doors blown off. Tonight, they will attempt to exact their revenge against a much more cohesive Detroit unit.

The Celtics and Sixers teams who met in the Eastern Conference semifinals last season were both cut from the same cloth. Amazing defenses (the Celtics were #1 in DFR, Sixers #3), terrible offenses (Philly #21, Boston #25). This year, both squads are taking the more traditional statistical approach to mediocrity.

The Minnesota Timberwolves feature two guys in their starting lineup who the Sixers simply cannot account for. Kevin Love and Nikola Pekovic are physical beasts, especially on the offensive glass. They play big, they play strong, they're aggressive, and they're most likely going to eat Lavoy, Hawes and Kwame alive tonight.

Through the first ten games of the season, the Sixers were an elite defensive basketball team. They were following in the footsteps of the team which finished one game away from the Eastern Conference Finals last season. It was a miracle, considering the roster changes, but it appeared as though their system would survive the personnel losses. Since then, things have changed...dramatically.

It's hard to fathom exactly how the Bobcats are 7-7 this season. Their offense is terrible, their defense is below average. Their shot distribution is just crazy. Tonight, the Sixers need to attack this team and make them look like the team that lost by 45 points to the Thunder.

The Sixers centers have been a big, big problem on both ends of the floor so far this season. Their inability to finish, their inability to rebound, their inability to defend the post. They've been exposed. These shortcomings make a traditional pick-and-roll game impotent. Last night, the Sixers finally made an adjustment to their P&R, with decent results.
