Click for full story. Six up, fourteen down. Sixty-two left to be played. Doug Collins has the Sixers overachieving, as far as I'm concerned. The only question is whether they can keep it up and whether he'll be able to figure out how to best utilize Evan Turner, before this terrible start can gain enough momentum to submarine his entire rookie campaign. Let's take a look back over the first twenty: stats, POTG leader board and individual player report cards.

In this column, GoSixers has aggregated the relevant stuff from the chats. You'll see stuff in here that will make you scratch your head, but keep in mind, these guys are experts.

Click for full story. After last night's tragic collapse, it would've been easy for the Sixers to hang their heads. It would've been easy to come back home tonight, look at the half-empty WFC, put their tail between their legs and let a physical Charlotte Bobcats team have their way with them. Sleepwalk through the game, then rest up in their own beds before continuing the home stand on Tuesday. This Sixers group, however, never seems to take the easy way out.

Click for full story. The Philadelphia 76ers completely outclassed the Atlanta Hawks for 43 minutes tonight. They stifled everything the Hawks tried to do on the offensive end. They dominated the boards. They ran crisp offense and shared the ball. They were well on their way to a double-digit win, on the road, against a legitimate playoff team. Then...

Click for full story. This isn't quite a mid term. Atlanta is a solid playoff team, but their missing their most-overpaid best player. So consider this game as just a pop quiz for the Sixers. They've beaten two playoff teams from last season in their previous six games. They've been playing much better basketball over the past three. Can they keep the momentum going in Atlanta tonight?

Click for full story. Following up on the post from earlier today, what do you guys think Doug Collins should do with Turner, in the short term? Vote in the poll and share your thoughts in the comments. Collins apparently hasn't made up his mind yet, but it looks like Nocioni would replace Turner with the first unit if Turner goes back to the bench.

Click for full story. The excuses are starting to get to me. Evan Turner has been playing horribly passive basketball for the past six games. It's been glaring since Andre Iguodala returned from his achilles injury, but the problem didn't start there.

Click for full story. It seems absurd to look at a 5-13 record and even think the word playoffs, but when you look at the standings, the Sixers do have a legitimate shot. Whether this is good, bad or neither is another discussion, but sitting 2.5 out of the eighth and final spot is the reality of the situation after 18 games.

Click for full story. The Sixers survived their third-quarter collapse and bounced back in a big way to notch their second win in as many games, and their fifth on the season. They won this game with a tremendous defensive effort in the second half, and the fourth quarter in particular. Portland only scored 11 points in the fourth.

Click for full story. Everyone's favorite "young" team with gobs of upside and an ultra-cool superstar wing as recently as a year ago, suddenly finds itself kept (barely) afloat by an aging point guard with a ton of old-man moves and moxie. This one is wrought with fun matchups, let's take a look at a few.

Click for full story. In any offense not orchestrated by Eddie Jordan, the purpose of an offensive possession is ultimately to get a shot in the lane, preferably a dunk or a layup. If you're living in the lane, odds are, your team is scoring efficiently and trips to the free throw line should follow. It's common sense. After 17 games, it's time to take a look at how successful the Sixers have been at creating shots in the lane.
