Click for full story. TK76 takes a close look at how Doug Collins doles out his minutes and perhaps why he makes the rotational decisions he makes. Think of it as fodder for argument, or a much-needed therapy session to brighten up your Valentine's Day. Enjoy.

Click for full story. Friday, November 26, 2010. The day after Thanksgiving 2010 bears special significance to our Sixers, even if you did not realize it at the time. On that date the Sixers lost 99-90 to the Miami Heat capping off a putrid 3-13 start. That game represented rock bottom - a combined 31 wins to 74 losses over a 105 game stretch. But somehow we are once again readying ourselves for another match against the Heat and though it is to be played the day after Groundhogs day, it could not feel any more different. Since that terrible 105 game stretch of 0.295 basketball (a 24 win season pace) the Sixers have "made a right at the light" to go 54-34 (0.614, a 50 win season pace.) The question for many has been "is this team legit", but in my opinion the question should be: How?

Click for full story. With all this losing going on, the Sixers are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Their young players need to be developed, but can you trust their production when they're asked to do more than they're capable of to make up for the shoddy construction of the roster as a whole? TK76 asks the questions, foremost among them: What happens if they've become the Clippers East?

Click for full story. The hardest part about projecting the development of a promising young player is to guess which parts of their game they will fix. Look at Thad - many of his problems now were areas we thought he would have improved on by now back when he was the toast of the town as a rookie (rebounding, running plays, perimeter defense, handle.) For the purposes of this exercise, let's look at Jrue and Turner through that same lens.

Click for full story. For the record, I typically fall in the "pro-Iguodala" camp. I see him as a somewhat underappreciated top 20-35 NBA player whose top 40 salary is reasonable market value. As the team's best player and only 26-years-old, I was against trading away Iguodala last season at the trade deadline - unless they received something of actual value such as a top 5 draft pick. But some things have changed in Sixersland, so it is time to re-address the situation.

Click for full story. Heading into a new season, fans and pundits are calling for more wins. But it will take at least a 50% jump in wins to be even talking about playoffs. A winning season is a possibility, but probably not something we can count on. But this can still be an exciting and compelling season - because this could be 'the year' for so many players on this roster.

Click for full story. Let's clear up some misconceptions about Evan Turner, selected with the #2 overall pick by the Sixers this past summer.  The sky is not falling.  He is not a bust or even a mistake.  He is the same player he was three months ago, a talented, "NBA" ready 22-year-old stud wing who dominated last year and almost single-handedly led Ohio State to a 29-8 record and 2nd seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Click for full story. Something is going to happen. Something has to happen, right? You can't be expected to make the playoffs, wind up winning a third of your games and not have any kind of shake-up, can you? I know these thoughts have been dominating my mind for a while now, and TK76 had a great idea for a post so let's discuss after the jump.
