At the end of June in 2007 I was walking the streets of Dubrovnic looking for an internet cafe so I could find out who the Sixers would take to help the franchise bounce back from the Allen Iverson trade. Thad Young wasn't the name I was expecting to read, but the news certainly didn't ruin my vacation. Over the next seven years in Philly, he'd reach the playoffs four times and keep his chin up as the team was torn down to the studs around him. Nothing but the best in Minny, Thad. The return for their best (remaining) player? Questionable.
Latest comment: from Dollar Bill"Good luck" this season to 'traveling salesmen' Willie Green (Magic), Jameer Nelson (Mavs) and John Salmons (Pelicans) !!! ...
The Sixers will begin their toughest stretch of the year tonight in Dallas. Jrue is apparently listed as a game-time decision, but I'm going in certain he won't play. Collins said a few more days on Sunday, and no one comes back earlier than expected for this team...ever. So it's Turner's show to run for one more game, at least.
The preseason (3 days) and regular season (23 days) openers are bearing down on us in a pleasant, |

With all this losing going on, the Sixers are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Their young players need to be developed, but can you trust their production when they're asked to do more than they're capable of to make up for the shoddy construction of the roster as a whole? TK76 asks the questions, foremost among them: What happens if they've become the Clippers East?

Up next in our "Feelings On" series, Mr. Thaddeus Young. A prodigy his rookie season, emerging as a number-one scoring option late in his sophomore year, only to regress to the point of irrelevance under the watchful eye of Fast Eddie Jordan. What do you see Thad's role as going forward in Philly?
While the win yesterday isn't technically good news (#9 pick here we come), the play of Jrue Holiday, to a lesser extent Thad Young and finally a report from Howard Eskin should definitely brighten your Monday morning.
Latest comment: from Charlie AceIf the Sixers hire Van Gundy, Jeff, say goodbye to the running game. ...
Outside of a handful of games this season, Elton Brand has not been the player we were expecting when he signed his $80M contract to join the 76ers two summers ago. He has not lived up to his contract, he has not been an impact player on either end of the floor, for the most part. He has been a disappointment on any scale. All of that is true. It's also true that they have almost no chance to win games when he isn't playing.
The Sixers will officially unveil their new uniforms today at 2pm (The picture above is the accidentally leaked road version). If you're in Philly you can head down to the Wach, the event is open to the public. Thad Young and Elton Brand will be doing the whole runway thing to show off the new threads. If you go, e-mail me a picture and I'll post here. Bonus points if you're in the picture with Thad or EB. (Pic is up after the jump, thanks to TK76)

To say that my drive home from Philly was depressing would be a bit of an understatement. After 24 minutes of inspired basketball, a surreal halftime show of twirling chunky blonds, an abysmal 3rd quarter and a 4th quarter...
The Sixers hopped on a plane to head straight into a blizzard in Cleveland after last night's home loss to the Kings. What they found when they landed was a complacent Cleveland team who thought they could sleep walk to...

Payback feels so sweet. Earlier today, I reminded everyone what happened the last time the Rockettes came to the Wach (a 50-point stomping). Tonight, the Sixers returned the favor. Don't let the 100-88 final fool you, this one was a...
