Now that Elton Brand is back on the floor, I feel we're running out of time to state our case against Willie Green staying in the starting lineup when EB is ready to go 30 minutes per. This post will be short on words, heavy on stats. After the jump you'll find what I believe is an extremely compelling argument for burying Green on the end of the bench and running with a starting lineup of Sam, EB, Thad, Iggy and Miller.

It was a trap game. They got trapped. Then they still won by 10 points, on the road. That says something about this team, possibly even more than a home win over the Spurs by 20+ points.

That calm, proud feeling you've been overcome with for the past hour or so doesn't happen often, so enjoy it. A feeling like this only comes from a perfect game from your beloved team, against a powerhouse, that results in a blowout.

You should beat the Charlotte Bobcats at home. That's just a fact. This is a game the Sixers should have won, and they did. If you're going to make the playoffs, you can't have letdown games, especially at home. So the win isn't the big news. The streak of three is more important. The quality of play over the past 6 or 7 is even bigger.

A win over the lowly Clippers, in and of itself, is nothing to brag about. While the individual talent on their roster isn't terrible (Kaman, Randolph, Camby and Baron are all legit players. Gordon and Thornton seem to be decent young guys), their play on the court has been dreadful. They came into the game with a record of 8-22 and without Randolph and Kaman. This game probably should've been an easier win than it was, but let's not dwell on the negative tonight.

The more bad basketball this team plays, the closer they come to a change. That's what we have to keep telling ourselves at this point. The change could be a permanent coach, it could be a trade, it could be a drastic reshuffling of the rotation. Losses like this one to Utah really make you hope it comes sooner rather than later.

Three obvious reasons the Sixers lost this game, 105-101 to the Nuggets. Which one do you like best? 1. Outscored by 30 points from three. (5 threes to 15) 2. Outworked on the boards (41 to 34 overall, 12 to 8 on the offensive glass) 3. Can't hit a free throw (18/30, 60%)

Thad started off this season so hot I thought there was zero chance he'd ever leave the starting lineup again. He was draining threes, driving to the hole, playing tough D and leading the team in scoring. I'm not sure what happened over the next 21 games leading to what has to be the ultimate insult in the game of basketball, being benched in favor of Willie Green, so I thought we'd take a look at his splits to see if we can't at least figure out when his game started going downhill.

Game two of the Sixers' back-to-back with the flying LeBrons will happen tonight, in Cleveland. Filed under, "Coaching to lose," comes the revelation that Mo Cheeks will use the same starting lineup as he did on Wednesday. Now, I hate having Willie Green in the starting lineup. Absolutely hate it. But the mere fact that he's in there doesn't bother me nearly as much as the reason Mo has given for inserting him. (late news: Ilgauskus will miss tonight's game for Cleveland.)
