Tom Moore reported last night an NBA source has confirmed the Sixers are fielding offers for Andre Iguodala, several teams are interested, but no one has met the asking price yet. From previous reports we could've probably gleaned this much, but the new info is that the Sixers won't settle for expiring contracts alone in return for their best player.

Lou Williams was once on the untouchable list for the Sixers. As we've been informed several times over the past couple of weeks, that list no longer exists. In fact, we've heard a couple of things regarding Lou. One, teams were interested in trading for him last season and also over the summer. Two, his name is again coming up this summer. Several rumors over the past 12 hours or so about the Sixers and the Rockets involving a Tracy McGrady deal. ESPN had the possible deal as Iguodala and Dalembert for McGrady. Which I find to be ludicrous on every level, which is why I didn't waste a post on it. But now Tom Moore has a source saying the teams have had discussions, so let's explore a little bit after the jump.

Kate Fagan wrote an article yesterday quoting sources familiar with the situation saying the only way the Sixers could land Tracy McGrady ('s expiring contract) would be to build a deal around Andre Iguodala and several other young pieces. Ergo, neither Elton Brand nor Samuel Dalembert would be included in the deal. This team has me completely tied in knots. When I read rumors that Elton Brand is being shopped, I just don't know how to feel about the situation. Earlier in the week, I posited a couple of trades (one involving Brand) which could clear significant cap space this summer, and the logic for making the moves. The logic still holds, but it still just doesn't sit well.

Almost immediately following the Stephen Jackson trade, word broke out in Oakland that another Warrior was being shopped, Monta Ellis. Jackson was a dynamic player, saddled with a bad contract and inflated offensive numbers that hold up much better when you're glancing at a box score, but wilt in a spreadsheet. Ellis is an entirely different story.

A rumored swap of big men got me thinking about our very own man in the middle. Apparently, New Orleans and Charlotte are talking about a deal sending Emeka Okafor to the Big Easy, and Tyson Chandler back east to the Bobcats. It's rare that a rumor is denied before I even catch wind of it, but it happened today. The rumor apparently sprung from a report in the South Florida Sun Sentinel, but for the life of me I can't find the original source. Anyway, Ed Stefanski quickly shot it down, and later today Bethlehem Shoals had his own take on the matter for the Sporting News. We'll examine the rumor after the jump and I'll give my take.
