Click for full story. At the end of June in 2007 I was walking the streets of Dubrovnic looking for an internet cafe so I could find out who the Sixers would take to help the franchise bounce back from the Allen Iverson trade. Thad Young wasn't the name I was expecting to read, but the news certainly didn't ruin my vacation. Over the next seven years in Philly, he'd reach the playoffs four times and keep his chin up as the team was torn down to the studs around him. Nothing but the best in Minny, Thad. The return for their best (remaining) player? Questionable.

Click for full story. No pun intended. In a move that appears to be spinning wheels and helping out an old friend, Sam Hinkie has traded for Royce White - an average D-Leaguer with anxiety problems (and a Twitter obsession) - and Furkan Aldemir, a stashed European big man.

Click for full story. I get it, I really do. You traded your best asset for essentially the #1 pick in this year's draft and a probable lottery pick in next year's draft. You've made the team bad...Bobcats bad. They're going to be bad for (at least) a year when it could pay huge dividends to be bad. Get worse to get better...the middle is the worst...accumulate assets. It all makes sense, I just have a favor to ask.

Click for full story. Yes, the bottom-feeding scourge of the sports blogging world, fake trades. With the team spiraling out of control, Bynum's return hopefully looming, but not before a handful more losses pile up and a weird three-day rest period, why not?

Click for full story. According to more reports than you can shake a stick at, the Philadelphia 76ers will acquire Andrew Bynum (pictured above destroying the Sixers) in a four-team trade. Andre Iguodala, Moe Harkless and Nikola Vucevic are the players reportedly on the move, and Jason Richardson will join Bynum in Philadelphia.

Click for full story. If my reading of the tea leaves is incorrect (and it probably is), and the more optimistic members of the fan base are correct, the Sixers have a plan. They're laying the groundwork for a slow rebuild, or a delayed rebuild. They're clearing their books for two years from now. I say if that's the plan, then do it right.

Click for full story. According to several reports, the Sixers have acquired Sam Young from the Memphis Grizzlies for the rights to Ricky Sanchez. This is hardly a move which will elevate the Sixers to contender status, but Young is a useful player who they got on the cheap, and he fills a need (though not a glaring need).

Click for full story. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nets have a "done deal" with the Utah Jazz to acquire Deron Williams. It's a three-team trade, with Derrick Favors, Devin Harris and picks going to Utah, Troy Murphy going to Golden State and other moving parts.

Click for full story. The Denver Post is reporting the New York Knicks have acquired Carmelo Anthony from the Denver Nuggets. It looks like the Knicks will get Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Anthony Johnson, Shelden Williams and Renaldo Balkman. The Nuggets will get Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Timofey Mozgov, Wilson Chandler, the Knicks first-round pick in 2014, and two second round picks (originally owned by the Warriors) in 2012 and 2013. (Eddy Curry wasn't mentioned in the article, but his contract has to be involved in the deal).

Click for full story. Since taking over as the head honcho in the Sixers front office, Rod Thorn has made one move. Sending Willie Green and Jason Smith to New Orleans for Craig Brackins and Darius Songaila was more about ridding the team of the players going out than any value coming back. Today, we sit roughly six weeks away from the trade deadline, and with a potential lockout looming, Thorn may have to wait quite some time to put his stamp on this roster if he doesn't before the deadline.

Click for full story. Heading into the season, looking at this roster, I was firmly entrenched in the "no short-term moves" camp. I believed this team needed to spend the season evaluating the players on the roster, installing a system they could then spend years executing and biding their time for another top draft pick and possibly cap space to be spent a couple years down the road. At this point, though, it's time to reassess.

Click for full story. I'm still sitting around waiting for Ed Stefanski to make a meaningful trade which actually makes the Sixers better on the court. It hasn't happened yet in his tenure as the team's general manager. Last night, I decided to take a look around the league and see if I could find something simple in the hopes that someone might be able to somehow get word to the big man.
